Today, my teacher confiscated my cell phone for text messaging. He said he would give it back if the next text that I would receive was important. I prayed the guy I've been texting didn't send the dick pic he said he was going to. He did. FML

so did your teacher give you your phone back? hahh

She was texting inappropriate things to this guy, too anal about it? The guy sent her a dick picture WHILE SHE WAS IN CLASS....>_< THIS is why the teachers are too anal about it.

I hope you don't live in longmont Colorado, teachers are extra picky about cell phone because apparently they can get fired if they have your phone gets a dirty picture. Because parents consider it child ****.

Taking the phone for text messaging in the class - acceptable. Not returning it after the class or at the end of the day - could it not be classified as a theft or something like that?

I'm glad that my high school allowed you to have phones in class. Some teachers still bitched about it, but there wasn't anything they could do. If it was on a ringer though, they could take up your phone. Always on vibrate when I was in class. And they always gave it back at the end of class. Unless you have a habit of your phone being disruptive. Then it went to the principal and you had to pay $15 to get it back. And every time after that, it went up another $15. Which I thought was total bullshit

It's perfectly fine for a teacher to confiscate the phone, as long as they return it by the end of the class, or maximum, end of the day. Of course if it isn't the first time, then they have the right to give it to the principle. But a teacher has NO right to look through texts, photos or any of that, because that's just an invasion of privacy! It happened to my friend once, and we reported the teacher which got her fired for invasion of privacy, especially since my friend was only checking the time, and wasn't actually using the phone.

If he had a sense of humor that could've been regarded as "important"

teachers have no right to go through students phones anyways
