Today, my mom took me to an AA meeting because she said I needed help. I have never tried alcohol in my life, and told them this. I was then harangued by the "instructor" because apparently one of the signs of alcoholism is denial. FML

bring a bottle and they will kick you out. trust me. or just bring a flask with scope and pour it in your coffee in front of them lol. either way your tossed.

well to my sensibilities the facts here are: -OP HAS a BIG problem w/ hitting a meeting -and feels "harangued" by the person leading the mtg -OP's mom is likely seeing something they may not yet & tryin to help, parents don't maliciously drag children to anonymous help groups usually you dont end up at AA/NA on accident, ppl. OP probably has a problem & is being a whiny lil bitch!

just look at the instructor and tell them that it's against your religion and walk out with a smile. they can't stop you from leaving

There's no such thing as an 'instructor' in AA.. There is no single person in charge, and each group is fully self supporting.
