As a former leukemia survivor, i know exactly how you feel. I had people make similar comments and i remember some of the looks i got from strangers. Part of my family that wasn't comfortable with me unless I wore a hat at our family gatherings. Some things you just have to take in stride. Fight hard through your treatments. Don't worry about silly things such as hats and wigs or stupid comments people make, just be comfortable with who you are. Good luck with your treatments!
Oh my god, **** your family. If I were you, I'd shave every one of their heads while they are sleeping and see how they feel.
Sorry to hear that, do what you wanna do though. Good luck to you and stay strong!
Tell them if they aren't nice you'll sneeze on them and give them cancer.
Bald is beautiful- remember that!!!! a group of my friends and I shaved our heads and donated our hair to locks of love when we were in college. We didn't have cancer- the story is long and your welcome to ask me privately if you would like-but we were called all sorts of names and made fun of, but I know we touched countless people through cancer awareness and LOVE I know our story continues to do so just as yours does. I hope you can find this love and support in return! God Bless you! I am so proud of you for standing your ground and being comfortable in you're own skin- you ARE A TRULY AMAZING ROLE MODEL FOR ALL OF US!!!! my mother battled cancer for 10 years here are her two favorite sayings "Shit happens" "I have cancer it DOES NOT have me!" much love
Good for you for being brave, confident and mature! It's a wonder you were able to be that way being surrounded by such people. It's ok no matter what you decide, even if it's simply to please them, wig or no wig, you are strong! Stay that way.
why do you have to be such a prick? cancer, in any form, is such a terrible thing. i wouldn't wish it on anyone, even you (though god knows you deserve it.)

Two things: First:congrats for your strenght and courage, half the healing process is a mental one, when you know you're gonna make it, you WILL make it! Keep fighting and it will be allright. Second, maybe what is embarrassing your family isn't your illness but the sheer fact that you're ill and that they can't to anything to help you. It's not something they can themselves battle against and it may hurt them a lot to see you without hair, a constant reminder that even if they are your family they can't protect you from everything.. I don't know how to say it in english but : Je t'envoie plein de bonnes ondes, courage!
She has cancer, and all you can comment is you just got owned by your family? Heartless much
