Today, my dad came home from work complaining about all the people he'd seen. He said he doesn't understand why so many people with problems have to confide in him. He's a psychologist. FML

Today, I found out that my dad has a therapist. That's cool. What's cooler is that she's a very nice lady, and even said to ME that I could talk too if I wanted to. Boy, do I want to. But if I did, then she would probably need a therapist herself, and the last thing my dad needs is his therapist needing a therapist. FML

Today, after finally seeing a psychologist about the death of my dad and spending the longest hour of my life confessing every thought I've experienced in the 6 years since his passing, my psychologist asked me if I was walking home or if my dad would be picking me up. FML

Today, my dad told me that people requiring psychiatric treatment are just weak and pathetic, and what they really need is a kick up the ass and to get a fucking grip. He told me this not 30 seconds after my doctor recommended I spend some time in a facility for my severe depression. FML

Today, my dad told me that I'm a weak and negative person because I suffer from depression and anxiety, then he told me to just snap out of it. FML

Today, I had somewhat of a nervous breakdown, and poured my heart out to a doctor, who seemed to be well over 60. She looked at me, flabbergasted and said, "I never met anyone with that many problems!" Gee, thanks. FML

Today, as usual, I'm receiving constant texts and calls. I'm socially exhausted and just want to be left alone, but everyone I complain to just thinks I’m bragging about my popularity. Including my therapist. FML

Wow, you people need to do your research. I'm studying psychology right now. Psychologists and psychiatrists alike counsil people, the difference is psychiatrists have a phd rather than a bachelors and can write prescriptions, psychologists can't.

You might want to make sure you know what you are studying. Psychiatrists have an MD or MD/PhD and prescribe meds. Counseling or Clinical Psychologists have an MS in Mental Health Counseling, MSW, PhD or Psy.D.

there are different psychologists, and they deal with assisting peoples problems. they can't prescribe meds like a psychiatrist but they deal with similar problems.

hold up... since when did complaining about your job automatically mean you should quit? Psychologists are allowed to have bad days and let off steam too.
