Today, my college economics class had a big test. We all needed a scantron sheet, but some people forgot some. I had an extra one and this really hot girl offered to buy it for $1.00. I said I'd give it to her for her number. She looked around and asked "Does anyone else have an extra?" FML

Today, I was working at my job as cashier. This really attractive girl that comes in walked in, so I mustered up the courage to ask her out, by writing my number on a dollar bill. She pays and a dollar is her change. I go to hand her the money when she sees it and says, "Keep the change". FML

Today, I was tending the cash register. I scanned a lady's items which totaled $89.68. She paid with a $100 bill. I gave her $11.32 change. She angrily gave back the extra dollar and complained about "schools nowadays". I'm an AP Calculus student. FML

Today, I asked my mom if she'd seen my financial calculator on my way out to an exam. She told me she'd tossed it in the donation pile that she'd taken to the Salvation Army this morning because it was "clutter." I needed it to take an exam required to pass the class, to graduate next month. The only place to buy a replacement was closed. FML

Today, while in class, a cute boy came up and asked me for my number. I giggled and wrote my phone number on a piece of paper and told him to call me sometime. He gave me a weird look and walked away. He was asking which number math problem I needed help with. FML

Today, while working as a cashier, I was flirting with this cute girl. When I asked her if she had her store card she said, "No", paused, then said "Can I give you my number?" I said, "Sure, that would be awesome, do you want mine?" She said no. I didn't know I could just enter the card number. FML

Today, after searching frantically for my economics notes for a week, I asked my friend to send me pictures of hers. I recognised my handwriting on the pictures she sent me and she admitted she'd "borrowed" them. The exam is in three days and she refuses to meet me and give my notes back. FML

Today, I was a TA for a history class and the class was taking a test. About halfway through, I noticed one kid had a small piece of paper in his hand. I ran up the row, grabbed his test, and ripped it into four pieces. Then I took the note from him. It said "I believe in you, -Mom." FML

Today, my math TA showed the class how one of her "dumb" students answered a test question. Everyone laughed as she wrote out the students answer, including myself, until I looked down at my answer sheet and saw that I submitted an identical answer. FML

Irony Fail. One of the only points I remember from econ classes is that the individual's goal is to maximize utility/happiness. That being said, obviously the OP felt that receiving her phone number would provide him with more happiness than $1. Also, economics is not 100% about the exchange of currency; bartering is also a perfectly valid system.

I assume you meant "Damn hot girls, not giving unattractive guys that like her because her looks a chance in relationship because of their 'personality'". 1st - why should she downgrade? She can get a boy with good personality AND good looks. 2nd - I don't see why someone would start a romantic relationship with a person you do not find attractive. I also don't see how that would be healthy. 3rd - if people think they should be given a chance in relationship solely because of their "nice" personality then they should go for the "nice" people themselves and not "attractive" ones and expect them to do that. It's hypocritical.

Something creepy guys never understand: girls don't want to be hit on when they don't expect it, and certainly not when they are just trying to do everyday things. Don't hit on girls at 8am at the bus stop when they're going to work, not at the bank, not at the DMV, not in the middle of the class. No matter what you look like or what she thinks of you, she's not likely to want that kind of attention when she's just trying to live her life.
