Today, my boyfriend's 16-year-old daughter got a job. I'm 29, with a Master's degree and I'm still unemployed. FML

I hope you weren’t competing for the same job. Selling costume jewelry at Claire’s in the mall only requires a bachelor’s degree.

She doesn’t have a husband. You should never say “no judgment” before you know all the facts. If the boyfriend were 11, you should judge!

How old is your husband? (No judging, just curious)

Could be only 32. My niece is 19 and I'm 35 and I'm six weeks older than her mom because my brother didn't make the best high school decisions.

There are so many open jobs right now. Quit trying to find one that requires a BA in basket weaving and masters in gender studies. Just go get a job.

A minimum wage job is one thing and you probably could find one if you were looking to get something on that level. The difference is you are not looking to compete with a 16 year old on the job market for the salary they earn.

im.just going to guess that the 2 of you aren't seeking the same kinds of jobs so not really fair to compare.

Get your butt to Walmart. Plenty of masters working there.

Is your masters degree in a useless subject? That one's on you if so. Too many people pick their college courses "for the experience". Far smarter to pick them based on employability.

I'm just going to guess you're probably not looking for the same type of job a 16 year old kid was looking for so you really cant compare the two.
