Today, I went to start my just bought '79 VW bus. I put my key in but stopped due to the strong gasoline smell. I went to check. Found puddle of gas. The previous owner figured duct taping a cracked tank was the same as fixing it. And didn't bother to share that tidbit with me. FML

hey OP http://www.wolfsburgwest.com probably your best bet

YDI for 1. Not looking all over it 2. Not getting a mechanic to look at it quick.

Painter's Grinding - They specialize in air-cooled Vdubs. They know what they are doing and the last thing they will do is rip you off! I take my '73 VW bus there, although it hardly needs to go in the shop :) www.paintersgrinding.com # 831 S Jason Street Denver CO 80223

76 westfalia same thing with me i'm paying the guy who screwed me over 4000 dollars to fix it. worse is hes the only one in the state who can. and hes like ninty and hasnt even started

There are lemon laws in the US to prevent this and the previous owner is required by law to repair it.

It doesnt matter that he didnt check it out. Sellers nowadays tend to be fuckheads and not tell the purchasant about the car. That idiot shouldve got that van fixed before he sold it.
