Today, I went on another date with a guy I've had a crush on for a long time. Afterwards, we went back to my place for the first time and things got heated. While taking my pants off, he recoiled and asked if I thought it was still No Shave November. FML

I have a question, do all guys want us women to shave?

No. But it's like men with beards. Shaved can be nice, trimmed and short can have it's appeals, but an unruly mess just makes people think it's not hygenic, even if it is.

"Looking like a Wookiee," as you so charmingly put it, and taking pride in your appearance are not mutually exclusive. But then I doubt an attitude like yours lets you see any pussy that isn't protected by a computer screen.

Granted, some guys don't mind girls not shaving. However, for your first time with a new guy, ALWAYS assume shaved. YDI, sorry.

That's right kids, always be yourself unless they are new to your life! Then change yourself completely until they like you. As soon as that happens you can reveal your real self and yell "surprise" as they run away.

Women aren't obligated to shave, it's personal preference. I shave but my partner wouldn't care if I didn't. There's no reference to if OP does trim or tidy up down there, the guy could of been expecting shaved and his reaction was to a nicely trimmed bush. Either way FYL OP.

Show it anyway

It doesn't mean that at all. She might keep it trimmed. Not everyone likes to be fully shaved.

Ugh, I don't know why people are saying YDI on this. It's OP's personal preference whether or not she shaves, so why should it matter to anyone else? This is more of a "FYL, OP, because the guy ended up being an ass about YOUR body."

He has a right to find someone too lazy to shave gross, just as that someone has the right not to shave.

102: how does having a personal preference for not shaving her pubic hair make her lazy? i personally hate with a PASSION shaving mine because i have very sensitive skin, and for the entire time it's growing back, it itches like mad. pubic hair is a natural occurance that is actually in place to help protect our genitalia from bacteria and infection. so long as you keep it washed every day and keep it trimmed, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. personally, i hate shaving my legs too for the same reason, but if i don't, people think it automatically means I don't bathe or something. but, as many have already said, it's just in our culture that these things are the social norm.

She might not shave but keeps it trimmed instead. It doesn't mean that op is lazy.

what a jerk ..as long as you're clean you are not required to shave or to do anything else to your body just in case it's what "most" people might expect

If it feels like there is a need to hack thru the jungle with a machete... Maybe it's time for a little deforesting.

Really? I'm not going to say that women should shave no matter what. I mean, let's be honest, it isn't a very comfortable thing to do. That being said, at least keep it trimmed and neatened up down there. No one wants to go down and discover a jungle. Same goes for dudes. Everyone should keep their gender specific parts looking maintained.

It's not comfortable for guys either. Just saying.
