Today, I was working as a nurse, and an elderly man had just passed away. As the patient's wife was leaving she said, "Thank you for taking such good care of my husband." Then I, intending to say "Sorry for your loss," said "Thank you for your loss." FML

It's even worse for me. I tried saying, while babysitting, "I'll also put your son to sleep" and was thinking to myself, "I'll do the dishes as well" and ended up saying "I'll do your son to sleep"

I'm a funeral director and found this post hi-LAR-i-ous. I've made a few of these blunders, but hopefully I'll be able to avoid this particular one.

Haha something like this happened to me, I am Persian, and I was at a furniture store talking to another persian sales person, and we were in a long conversation, when all of a sudden an American family walked up and acknowledged that they were leaving and the sales person accidentally said you're welcome in Farsi (Persian) and started laughing

That stare you would've gotten from her. Gosh.
