Today, I was told that, although I was sick on the last day before break, they would still accept the 24 page essay that I had written. Tonight, as I went to print it out, I found that my dad had "cleaned up a bit" on my computer, including the documents from last semester. I have school tomorrow. FML

What's with parents messing with their kids stuff? What happened to respect for other people's things?

So someone can't go through the same experience as someone else. Wow I didn't know that once someone had gone through something like this it can't ever happen again to them or someone else. ???

wow fyl..something like that happened to me to well I forgot to turn in thus huge essay cause I went to a different room to take the final exams..but mine wasn't a 24 page essay ha I'd kill my dad if he did some shit like that;P

dude, open your recycle bin. i can almost guarantee that its still in there. most people are much too lazy to actually empty their recycle bins, unless they have something to hide that theyve deleted.

um...don't you mean they would EXPECT the essay? If they would simply ACCEPT it, that implies them saying it's optional...just saying.

I really doubt you ever had a 24 page assignment that your parents just happened to delete...

Yeah. When you look at a file in a folder on the computer, it shows exactly how long it is, how many words are in it, how long it took you to write, and how important it is, all in one quick glance. ...Oh, wait. That's not right, is it? What really sucks is that you waited to turn it in when you go back, instead of emailing it to your teacher the day it was due.

In most computers all you have to do is go to 'START' 'ALL PROGRAMS" "ACCESSORIES" "SYSTEM TOOLS" then "SYSTEM RESTORE". This will recover your documents... Your an idiot for not saving it somewhere else but i guess you learnt to back-up things the hard way :p LOL

YDI. Computers aren't some mystical box only usable by a select few anymore, they are an integral part of everyday life. If you don't know how to operate one correctly, which includes making backups, encrypting files, etc... then its your own damn fault.
