Today, I was the designated driver. On the way home with my drunk friends, they decide to give me a beer shower. I swerved, and was pulled over by a cop moments after. I was the only one arrested. FML

I would think the real problem wasn't the swerving or beer smell but rather the open container. I don't know about Florida but the states I've been don't allow alcohol to be open in the car.

Sucks for you. With a little luck, the judge will throw it out.

Speakin' of showers, watch out in the group showers during your stay in county...

Something tells me this is painfully obvious that it's a fake, and OP is fudging the story, hiding the fact that they were drunk, not unless the cop never heard of open container laws.

There's a lot of talk on here about whether the OP deserved it, but we can't know for sure without the rest of the details. One thing I do know is that if these were my friends, they'd need a new DD.

Must bean idiot cop not notice you're wearing the booze and not drunk.

Open container in most states is illegal, you shouldn't of had booze in the car. As the driver you were responsible I don't feel sorry for you YDI

I think he might have gotten arrested for having open beer cans. I know that's against the law. So even if the cans were closed and only opened to pour it on OP; he would still be arrested.

open containers are illegal too and that would be your fault for letting them in the car.

They arrested you without a breathalyzer or making you walk in a straight line? That's weird. On the other hand, you stank of beer and were swerving so you can't blame them for assuming you were driving drunk. In any case, FYL

**** open container laws. I want a miller while driving home from work
