Today, I was sitting on the train when some crazy man started talking to me. I ignored him, and he tapped on my shoulder. He started blabbing and I just pointed to my ears and mouthed, "I'm deaf." He stopped talking. A minute later my phone rang and I answered it without thinking. FML

i completely agree with you. both of my parents are deaf as well and i disagree with this "great" idea of faking a disability. its not funny. its not a joke. and its offensive. honestly, i feel bad for that poor man because you might as well just have told him "i think you're weird. you're not worth my time. or the truth. so i'll just lie to you." even if you WERE deaf, you could have at least made some noise like #29 commented. you weren't pretending to be mute. i totally get where you're coming from #45, thank you. your welcome! but, you know what i really hate? when people assume i will translate for them. my parents can read lips, and (kinda) speak. they can communicate just fine. hearing people just dont want to wait, and listen hard. i'll step in if i really have to, but my parents can get along with out me just fine!

yeahh you know what REALLY pisses me off though? when i go out places and i do interpret, and the person im speaking to just stares at my parent(s) like they'll respond back or im not even there. its like: "HELLO? I'M KIND OF SPEAKING TO YOU?" ahha. does that happen to you?

People are so nosey and I hate talking to people who are sitting next to me. If they talk to me I just ignore them and put my earphones in my ear.. Then you really can't hear them!! :P Good job at answering the phone though. That's awesome. haha
