Too much is missing from this to truly decide in my opinion. How did he say no? What else did he say with it. Also if you really wanted to leave a little 2 letter word wouldn't stop you. I think you were just pushing for attention and that YDI for not leaving if you truly wanted to.

Actually, if he's a creep who won't leave her alone after they break up and goes crazy, it is perfectly acceptable to use the legal system. It's there for a reason.
