Today, I told my boss I could handle running the floor buffer. Thirty seconds in, I lost control and became pinned to the wall by its force. In my state of shock and embarrassment, I didn't realize the only thing keeping me trapped was my grip on the accelerator. FML

I don't think you deserve it. They don't look like they'd be hard to control, but I understand freaking out and keeping your hand on the accelerator. The first time a ride a quad, I freaked out when a bump sent me into some tall, sharp weeds and I was so scared I just kept my thumb on the accelerator until I made it out. Now you'll just know how to handle it better next time (:

29, you would be surprised how hard those things are to control if you're not used to them.

I once had something like this on my dirtbike, after a jump I landed went full speed and kinda lost control untill I released the throttle.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you had to convince him you to let you use it in the first place, I'm sure your boss expected some sort of struggle. However, if you claimed to have operated one before then I think even you know you deserved it.

I was a janitor for 4 years a local phone service provider, and when I finally quit was training some kid to run the buffer and he did the same damn thing as soon as I left the room. cept it tossed the buffer through the wall and broke his fingers where they hit the wall lol, so you got off some what luckier then him =P
