Today, I spent two hours making dinner for my boyfriend's family. When I brought it over to their house they said "thanks" and didn't bother to invite me to stay to eat it. FML

Same thing different taste

Today, I spent hours cooking an amazing dinner for my family, who had just gotten home from a trip, so we could spend some time together because I'd started to miss everyone. When they got home, they saw it all laid out and just took plates to their room, without even telling me they were home. FML

Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML

Today, my boyfriend and I spent all day preparing an amazing meal for my extended family, and then 3 hours before dinner his crazy mother forced him home because she felt "excluded". He's spent the past 3 days with her. There's no way for me to keep him and get rid of her. FML

Today, I was invited to my boyfriend's house for dinner for the first time. His mom made a fantastic dinner, so I showed my appreciation by eating the lot. Apparently I was overdoing it because when I looked up everyone was staring. His dad muttered, "Slow the hell down." FML

Today, my boyfriend took me home to have dinner with his parents. I couldn’t eat a single bite after watching his mom let her three dogs taste all the food off her hands, while she also licked her own fingers while cooking. Later on, he dumped me for being rude and “too high maintenance." FML

Today, my boyfriend came home and demanded dinner. I started suggesting things, but he threw out that we should just fend for ourselves. I made pasta and offered him some, but he decided to throw a fit and go to bed at 6:30pm without dinner. He then woke up at 9 to complain he was hungry, then slept on the couch. FML

Wow, I concur with #3. People like that will never be pleased with anything you do, so don't go out of your way for them. I would also pull the bf over and quickly and calmly mention how disrespected you felt. In my opinion, he shouldn't have let them do that. He should learn to stand up for his partner.

Wow was your boyfriend not there? If he was and didn't invite you in, you should totally dump him, he doesn't deserve you! And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...so he's probably just like them. You should have taken the food back and left lmao!

i can definitely see a situation in which this is COMPLETELY YDI. Like... if my brother's girlfriend dropped by and said "hey, I made this for you guys" and handed me a plate of food, then I would just say "thanks!" and that would be that. Just seems like a nice gesture... But if they had ASKED you for the food... then that's ****** up.... and in that case, FML

I think dumping him is a little extreme. Maybe it was late and they thought you had already eaten or something? I agree it was pretty assholish to not invite you in, but still, they don't HAVE to invite you in, it's their house. Maybe his parents don't like you?
