Nearly everyone here must spend their entire lives walking on eggs - one slightly misinterpretable comment or action and suddenly it's a reason to dump someone. What a dour, frightened, humourless life everyone must lead. OP - he's having fun with you. Try doing the same with him. For example - try listening to the commenters who suggest turning up in a 'mac and mustache - that'll liven things up a bit!
