For some people it's cheaper to have a cell phone then a house phone. We NEED phones to call for help and have people easily get In contact with us, it just depends on what type you get.

Been broke too, OP. Sympathies. I found lots of good advice on living broke searching by "frugal" (such a kinder term!). Not broke now, but still using many of the tips because they work so well.
