Today, I found out that my university had not accepted the internship I did when I was in college. They placed me in the same bank I interned in, with the same bank manager that I flipped the middle finger at after finishing my internship. FML

Don't burn bridges until they're fully crossed, and even then think twice before burning them. You may have to cross it again.

Maaayyybe you shouldn't have flipped that guy off? Karma's a bit of a bitch

Then you're just as dumb as OP. He's probably repeating because he flicked his boss off.

Making friends everywhere you go. Just making friends.

Even if the manager was a major prick, you should have just grinned and bared it on the last day. Other than karma coming back to bite you in the butt for it now, it's still a really rude thing to do...

What's that line about burning bridge?

I take it you didn't want a reference from them either? ??

There's a thing call professionalism and the concept of not burning bridges, no matter the circumstances. You should maybe give them a try sometime. You never know when you need to rely on them for a reference or connection. You don't sound like you're mature enough for the working world yet. YDI

I don't actually agree with the "no matter the circumstances part" as there are certain people you could not pay me enough to work for again, nor would I ever want a reference from them. typically speaking yes, don't burn bridges, but there are loads of exceptions too. I think it's more a don't burn bridges unless you are sure you are already off them. in this case if they wanted to burn the bridge they should have waited until everything cleared, and all documentation was dealt with.

Why do people think they're going to get sympathy for being gigantic douches? YDI.
