Today, I found out I could not go to the Philippines because I have never had Chicken Pox. The school took the radical decision to prohibit students who have never had Chicken Pox to leave the college. I am condemned to stay in Hong Kong in some shitty project because I am a healthy young man. FML

I've never had chicken pox and I'm 23. I'm afraid one day I'm going to have a kid, he's going to get it, and he's going to live the rest of his life knowing it was his fault he killed me.

I gave it to my dad when I was 4. He was 29. It sucked for him, but he's still very much alive and well today. So, if you happen to catch it from your kid, just get medical attention. Not the end of the world lol

In some cases, but it can be lethal.

Some countries doesn't use the vaccine. Sweden, for example.. (resulting in me ending up in the hospital when I got it. Thanks, swedish government)

Actually, if you don't get the chicken pox, you have a risk of getting them when you're older and if that happens, it can kill you

If you get the chicken pox as an adult it can be very dangerous

But you wouldn't be a healthy young man if you left. So just be patient.

Just because you've had chicken pox, doesn't mean you're unhealthy.

Chicken Pox it manifests much worse as you grow older.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you can not get chicken pox after 16

No, however it does turn into what is known as "Shingles" which is the adult Chicken Pox, and much MUCH worse... it can actually kill people...

Wrong, shingles comes from the chicken pox virus. You cannot get shingles if you have never had chicken pox (although yes shingles can be fatal). Adult chicken pox is still called chicken pox.

im 18 never had chicken pox, just have the vaccine, i had it when i was 6 never got them, now im having a booster shot before starting work in a child care

Actually, someone who has had a virus is typically now immune. Since you haven't had it, they are trying to protect you from getting at an age that can literally kill you. Sorry, but I think the fml moment is in that you dont really know what you're complaining about.
