Today, after my landlord commented on how rarely I drink milk, and I joked that I'm "probably going to die young" because of it, I immediately remembered that her 35-year-old husband died last year of a heart attack. FML

How does your landlord know you rarely drink milk. Is she living with you?

Honestly I find the fact that your landlord knows how much milk you (don't) drink a little more disturbing than your slightly misplaced joke... FYL OP!

I think it's been long enough that an obscure joke like that wouldn't be connected to her husband

why does your landlord know your milk consumption habits?

@20 Most people become lactose intolerant because they drink much less milk than when they were younger or they just stop drinking milk altogether. If you keep drinking milk, your body will (in the case of most people) still be able to process it.

Unless he got a heart attack and died because of a lack of drinking milk, this is so not an FML.

Why is she so concerned with your milk drinking habits, and what does not drinking milk have to do with heart attacks or dying young?

I don't drink milk. I live off of water. Milk is over rated. It's been proven that water decreases the chances of breast cancer and that milk is linked to breast cancer. This is only one example. There are so many other ways to get calcium and vitamin D...etc

As far as I know, there are close to no positive reasons for adults to drink milk. All the beneficiary effects only work when you are still growing. That doesn't necessarily mean it's bad for you though...
