Today, I got a report telling me how I had handled a mystery shopper at work. In this report, I found out that instead of saying, "Thank you" I'd said, "Have a nice day, take care." This kept me from getting a $150 bonus. FML

Today, my boss scolded me for being too friendly to our customers and told me to back off and let them do their thing. Less than an hour after doing as he said, he scolded me again, this time for slacking off and not asking them if they needed help finding stuff. There goes my bonus. FML

Today, my co-worker received a $1,000 bonus for a project that I do all the work on. My direct supervisor thought that I was an assistant. I send him an e-mail copy of the project every week, and have done so for the past six months. I was later reprimanded for not congratulating my co-worker. FML

Today, I was working when I delivered the standard "Hello, how are you?" to a customer. He took the opportunity to tell me about his deceased wife, his estranged children, and his anal tearing. After a while, I tried to help someone else, and he complained to my manager. I was written up. FML

Today, I was helping an older lady return her previously bought items to customer service. As she walked away and said "Thanks," I tried to say "You're welcome" and "No problem" at the same time. I ended up saying "Your problem". She scowled at me. FML

Today, nine hours into a ten-hour shift, I accidentally told a customer, "You're a problem!" instead of, "You're welcome!" or, "No problem!" She gave me a dirty look and hurried off before I could correct myself. FML

Today, at work, we had an extremely rude customer who started cussing at us, and my coworker started cussing back. I jumped on the register to quickly bring down the line, and apologized to everyone for the scene. A secret shopper was in the line and claimed that I was rude. I got written up. FML

Today, I found out that I accidentally returned a customer her $147 check she had written out to pay for her groceries and receive cash back. The lady got free groceries and money, and I'm now losing my job. FML

Today, due to being stressed and overwhelmed by my tasks, I made a mistake and completed a few of my colleagues' tasks as well. When I informed my boss about it, he said that I did an outstanding job, but I shouldn't have messed with other people's documents. As a result, my promised raise is cancelled. FML

Today, everyone at the office was finally presented with the bonuses our boss had promised to pay us by the end of last year. Turns out he was never authorized to promise any such thing, so he ended up just giving us signed "thank you" letters instead. FML

Ah mystery shopper, the bane of any retail workers life. My employer is just as stupid. Things like 'bye bye'=wrong but 'bye'=good. Stupid company.

@yaisaidit, why? Because you don't approve? How do you know they have no lives? Grow up you ignorant jackass! I have been mystery shopped at every retail job I've had, never knew WHO they were, I have even known people who do it for a little extra money. They are not all bad people! Part of the problem with society today is so much JUDGMENT of any and everything that one doesn't LIKE or UNDERSTAND without really having too much reason to even have an opinion of SOME of these things! Plus as a whole American's don't take responsibilty for their own actions and would rather just blame anyone else for everything! If you don't like mystery shoppers that's fine, nobody has to like everything, but mystery shoppers aren't the bad guy, the company you work for is, because they asked someone to come in and shop that store!

honestly, corperate shit sucks. they don't treat most of the employees who interact with the customers worth a damn. as a customer, a happy-not forced to use a script employee makes me want to come back. because, as everybody else, i'd rather be treated as a human with money, than just a source of money that doesn't care. sorry dude. i find it to be very ****** up. D:

you're suppose to say thank you as in thanks for using our company. a companys only goal is to thank clients so the clients come.back and spend more. that's it. u didn't thank them, you aren't bringing more money in. you fail.
