Today, after I applied for an IT position at work, and a coworker I’ve worked with for 3 years, who said she had no intention on applying, wished me luck and told me, "I hope you get it!" it's now a week later and it turns out she applied the next day, got the offer and accepted. I had to find out a week later from a different coworker. FML

Today, I got a call from the only company that asked me to come in for an interview of the many applications I submitted. I answered it even though I was at my current job. My boss heard and chewed me out. The call was to cancel the interview since the position was filled. FML

How is this an FML? Companies do this all the time, just to piss people off I think. I had to apply for my own job while I was still doing it, and the strange thing was I didn't get it, despite being a department all by myself. I also had to train my own replacement.
