Today, one of my guy friends, who I’m not interested in romantically, asked me out on a date. This is the third time a "friend" has asked me out on a date. FML

unfortunately you gotta get used to it. it's real hard to find a straight guy friend that legit wants to be friends. welcome to the fuckzone

It depends on where you are in life. In grade school and Jr High there are only "friends". By the time you graduate High School most people are looking for a romantic or sexual partner and not so much in more "friends"... I understand that we need friends, male and female, but the primary drive during adulthood toward the sex you are attracted to is usually romance and sex based. It can be frustrating to be attracted to a specific person and to have them tell you that they want to be friends but nothing more... True enough sometimes friendship blossoms into something more - But rarely does that happen to a person who got "friend zoned" right up front when they were originally trying for something more.

sometimes people will be attracted to those they vibe with and be courageous enough to ask if the one they vibe with feels the same. if the answer is no and they can be chill and vibe after, then all is good. it's when people can't handle the no that things get weird.

If you don't want to go out with a guy just tell him straight up that you don't want to go out with him. That's the nicest thing to do. I know it's hard but it's always ended better for me and the girl when the girls honest with me. If you're not honest the guy's going to give you the benefit of the doubt and feel strung along and then there's hurt feelings etc etc etc. That being said you should know that guys only want to be friends with girls who they think are cute. If a guy wants to be your friend he probably thinks you're cute. Don't be surprised when they ask you out eventually. All of this goes by the wayside if you're ugly. In that case you'll only be able to find a guy friends and no boyfriends.
