Today, I got pulled over by a cop. Since my window wasn't working, I opened the door, causing him to run towards me with a drawn gun. He then had a go at me with his night stick. After realizing my window was broken, he laughed and let me off with a warning. FML

Today, I was pulled over by a cop. He asked for my license and registration, so I reached for my center console. I was then greeted with a gun to my ear because my coffee cup supposedly looked like a gun. I stepped out of my car to apologize, and I was hit with a big stick. FML

Today, I was pulled over by the police. The cop was my ex-boyfriend. He had no legitimate reason to pull me over, so he thoroughly checked my car. He gave me a defect notice and a fine. What for? A broken door lock, on my rear passenger door. FML

Today, I got 20% tints on my car. As I'm driving home, a cop pulls me over. I didn't want to ruin my new tint by opening my window, so I opened my door as the cop approached. He then pulled out his gun and yelled "GET ON THE FUCKING GROUND!" before I could explain. FML

Today, I got pulled over for speeding. I started fixing my hair and unbuttoning a couple of buttons on my shirt, hoping the policeman would let me off with a warning. When he got to the car, he rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath. I saw him walk back to the cop car gagging. FML

Today, while parked at school, someone broke into my car by smashing the window. I called the police and they informed me I could drive it to the local station as it was an easy 2 minute drive. As I was driving there, I got pulled over for driving with a smashed window. FML

Today, while I was driving, a police officer jumped out from the sidewalk and into my lane. I slammed on the brakes so I wouldn't hit him. He then gave me a ticket for "obstructing traffic." FML

Today, I got pulled over heading home from college. My car was full of my stuff from moving out, and I couldn't reach the glove box. I told the cop this, and asked if he wanted me to go around to the passenger side to get my paperwork. He agreed. When I got out of the car, he pepper sprayed me. FML

Today, I got pulled over for speeding and got a $200 ticket. After I pulled away, I decided to warn the next car about the cop up ahead by flashing my headlights. The next car was another cop. He didn't appreciate my "help". FML

Today, I got pulled over for the first time. When the officer came up to my window, I immediately burst out into tears due to nervousness. He kept asking me for my licence and registration. Hysterical, I wasn't able to comply. He arrested me for not cooperating. FML

see the problem with gun control Is that bad people don't really obey the rules so then u have a whole bunch of armed criminals running around and decent people have no way to defend themselves

Why wouldn't you just wait? A moment's hesitation to draw your weapon can mean the end of an officer's life. Half the people on here will say "I hate the police" so I can't blame the officers for being paranoid and thinking anyone who pops the door open and refuses to comply is out to hurt them. Next time sit still and wait for him to get up to your window, tell him it's broken, and have him tell you to open your door.

dude how many people on here would actually think to wait for the cop to tell them to do something? where is that a law? When were we taught that in school? Ive NEVER heard this before. If I were in the OP's situation Id do the same thing. In fact my when I was little some like that happened to my uncle and no one pulled a gun on him. IF someone was going shoot a cop itd be hella lot easier to roll down the window while concealing the gun and then shoot and then take off in the car. Opening a door has nothing to do with people intending to shoot cops And saying **** the police comes under the free speech, pleant of people say it with out acting on. Cops are mostly just bullys that have a quote of tickets to fill for the month. Ive actually seen a cop tailgate someone 4in off their bumper then pull them over when they speed up a little to avoid being rearended by a dumbass.
