Today, my younger cousin bought his girlfriend of 3 months a bunch of flowers. The only flower I've ever got from my boyfriend of 3 years is a plastic one he found on the floor in a bar. FML

Today, I took my girlfriend out for dinner to a fancy Italian restaurant for our one year anniversary. After giving her some roses, freshly baked cookies, and a thoughtful poem I wrote for her, she started laughing and asked for her real gift. FML

Today, on a whim, I bought my wife some flowers on my way home. She put them in a vase then asked me what stupid thing I did that I’m pre-apologising for. She refuses to believe I bought her flowers for any other reason. Man, I must be a really shitty husband. FML

It sounds like she's feeling a bit neglected. Try doing something spontaneous and going out of your way to show her you want/need her. When you've been together a while it's easy to fall into a pattern and forget to put in effort to maintain your relationship. Although you both may have fallen into a pattern and are both at fault for this. Either way you should discuss what's causing this tension to try and resolve whatever is going on.

my husband and I don't do flowers but we do randomly pick something yummy up for each other! also instead of doing valentines day gifts we get up early the next day and go buy discount chocolate together! we don't really do anniversary stuff either, we both agreed we would rather do spontaneous stuff for each other so there's no pressure! maybe this could work for you guys? I would talk to her about it and see what she's missing!
