Free TV

Today, I discovered that when you suddenly get channels that you didn't have before, it doesn't mean there was a glitch and you're getting free TV, it just means that your son called the cable company and had your plan changed so you get every conceivable channel at a hugely increased price. FML

What kind of company are you with?! All the ones I've ever had check and verify private information before allowing any changes.

Maybe the son never talked to anyone. I can upgrade my programming online. OP might have the same setup. No security questions are asked and if OP has it set to remember his login info, the kid wouldn't even need the password.

You should be careful about the company you're with if they don't require some sort of proof of ID before increasing charges on your account.

If your son is a minor, you can dispute the charges.

As long as your son is under 18, he doesn't have authorization to change the plan. Only whoever's name is on the plan can do that....So, this was posted a year ago, but I hope you disputed the charges.
