If your son is 5 or 6 this would be kind of cute. If he's 15 or 16 then it would be not so cute. It's hard to form an opinion on this without knowing your son's age.

They did a mythbusters episode about that. They said it doesn't work. Let us know if he succeeds.

Maybe he read somthing about the new age phenomenon known as "ear candling" somewhere? Scientific evidence says it's quackery but that doesn't stop folks from believing in it.
