Today, it's my first anniversary of being a manager. It also marks a 12-month period of 30% loss in monthly income, combined with 30+ hours/month of overtime. FML

Never take a demotion in pay that low! Unless say you moved to a new state and could t take your job with you.

That’s only 47.5 hours a week. That’s a pretty standard work week if you work in the professional class. You don’t work shifts, you work until it’s done. I work as a civil engineer and most of the people in my industry put in between 45-50 hours a week, especially the managers. The income loss sucks though. Go find a better job that doesn’t cut your pay when they promote you.
