Bonjour!

Today, in a job interview I confirmed I could speak French, as I lived in France for 6 years and became fluent, but I was so nervous that when my interviewer started speaking French, I froze up and the entire French language exited my brain like it was escaping a fire. I was kicked out for lying. FML

This always happens to me with Spanish! Drives me crazy

Tant pis! Qu'elle dommage! Je suis desolé. And that's just from college French I learned a million years ago and spending four days in Paris. I'd say you really have a Vie De Merde there!

I minored in French, and I do this too. I’m never prepared to have an actual conversation in French, even though I always want one. C’est la vie.

It's not so bad. You could have stammered out a "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?", and then the merde would have really hit the fan.

Happens to me with German and Spanish. So I started telling people I can't speak it anymore even though I know everything they're saying 😩
