Today, my husband told me he didn't want me to get power tools to build things, because he thinks a miter saw and a sanding orbiter are more dangerous than guns. FML

Today, my husband brought home a machete. In the process of showing me a trick he learned, he managed to slice a nice big hole in our brand new very expensive sectional. FML
Today, I had to explain to my one person on my staff why having kids aged 6 to 9 hammering in screws with the butt end of a screwdriver is neither safe, nor a good idea. FML
Today, I spent half an hour trying to convince my husband not to re-enact a video he saw online of a guy tying some rope to a running chainsaw, then swinging it around his head. He finally agreed not to do something so stupid. A few hours later, he did it anyway. FML
Today, my husband and I got into a fight because I refused to let him use my fingernail to clean the plaque off his teeth. FML
Today, I nearly lost a hand at work, because a supervisor decided to remove a 'useless' safety guard on a machine despite my warnings. He doesn't understand why I'm so upset with him. FML
Today, my ex said that the reason we didn't work out was because I wasn't handy around the house. I'm quite capable of basic home repairs. I'm not capable when she's hovering over me, hyperventilating, and screaming, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" every time I reach for a tool. FML
Today, while working at Home Depot, a customer tried to engage me in a conversation about which gardening tool would "hypothetically" be the best to kill his wife with. FML
Today, my wife is pissed I bought a $600 drill set on sale for only $200, because the one I had wasn't strong enough for the job i just started at. Yet the $300 I just spent for her to go to a concert isn't even in a the equation. FML
Today, my friend thought it would be funny to use an electric sander on my arm during our construction class. FML
Today, I finally confronted my husband about his silicon *wedding ring* having rifle bullets on it. He said, "I love you as much as I love guns." I clarified, "As much as?" to give him an out. He replied, 100% serious, that he really loves his guns. FML

Well when we're talking about a powered Miter saw, he's not entirely wrong, those things can take your finger or even your arm off in half a second, where as most home-defense guns will likely stay locked up the majority of the time in the possession of any half-way responsible owner. That being said, that isn't a valid reason for you not to get them, if want to build and fix things, by all means you should be able to do so, you're an adult and capable of making those decisions for yourself.

I had a cousin lose her hand due to an accident with a miter saw. I can see his concern being valid.

Well when we're talking about a powered Miter saw, he's not entirely wrong, those things can take your finger or even your arm off in half a second, where as most home-defense guns will likely stay locked up the majority of the time in the possession of any half-way responsible owner. That being said, that isn't a valid reason for you not to get them, if want to build and fix things, by all means you should be able to do so, you're an adult and capable of making those decisions for yourself.

Time to join a power tool library. Yes, they exist. If there are none in your area, it's easy to create one.

A lot of idiots who don't have common sense. I really fear for the future with all these people wanting to be a little princess. Males in particular; younger generations of males are more interested in dancing and doing their makeup and nails on Tiktok than doing anything somewhat creative.

Dancing, Make-up, and doing ones nails are all things people use to express their creativity. Your problem is that you don't approve of their choice of creative outlet.
