Moving on

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I found out yet another friend is engaged, and a few more are having babies. I'm still young and have time, and I have a wonderful kiddo and boyfriend, but I also feel left out. FML
Today, like every day, I scrolled through my social media feeds, seeing happy couples, people buying houses and landing their dream jobs. I, on the other hand, am a single 23 year-old man in a dead end job, who still lives with his parents. FML
Today, I went to my best friend's wedding. All my friends and their boyfriends were seated at one table, while I, as the only single girl in the group, was put on a table with all the other single people. They were all over forty years older than me. I feel like I have seen my future. FML
Today, I found out that the last girl from my graduating high school class is engaged to her boyfriend. I'm now the only guy from high school who's still single and I'm not even 30 yet. FML
Today, the last of my college friends is getting married and now I'm the last single one. Don't worry though, if one ever gets a divorce we can hang out again. FML
Today, I've reached the age as a sexless loser where my family no longer tells me to find a "single lady" but rather a "single mother". Thanks for reminding me everyone else had fun in their twenties. FML
Today, I found out that the last of my super feminist "I'm never getting tied to a man" college friends got engaged. Apparently, I should have tried that tactic, as my current partner in life is my goldfish. FML
Today, I went to my friend's beautiful wedding. The only other single girl there was 5 years old. She caught the bouquet. FML
Today, I realized the only person who’s ever loved me was an old friend. She was an amazing girl, she was there for me at my highs and lows, but I didn’t find her attractive, so I turned her down. She has since then moved on and gotten married, while I’m still getting played left and right by women. FML
Today, my sister got married. For the second time. She's 30. Two men have loved her enough to cry over their vows to her. Every single person there asked me why I wasn't married yet. FML

No! Don't listen to the haters that have kept you down your whole life so far. I'm a "nice guy." Really!

Maybe you like being alone? Maybe you only envy your friends because of "keeping up with the Joneses"? If not, do something about it.

You have no love life? What are you doing about it? Are you practicing good self-care? Are you doing things and going places where you might interact with active and interesting men? How much energy are you devoting to meeting and dating potential partners?

OP I am confused if you are sad that you have no one else in your life or if it’s because you wanted someone to buy you a house and support you. (1) If it’s the first (lonely) then first you have to do an honest self-assessment about why that’s the case. Then work on becoming the person you want to be. Then take part in activities and social situations that create a safe way to meet the kind of person you want to meet. Avoid appearing “desperate” or clingy - That drives people away. Also avoid the “meat markets” like bars or Tinder - that is really desperate. Finally just like you probably want to be valued for the person you are rather than your physical characteristics, look for that in others. (2) If it’s mainly just that you wanted someone to buy you a house and keep you comfortable - In that case I have zero sympathy for you.

Sometimes it takes longer to meet the person who complements your personality & lifestyle. It’s not easy to run into someone who connects with you at a deep level. Don’t lose hope. Good luck!

Dating a skill, you just need to do it and up your game.

Get out there and meet people. Volunteer, walk or play sport. Think about what you really want, then work out what it realistic
