Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my brother is getting married to my crush of 7 years. To make that even worse, they're moving in with me. FML
Today, I found out that the guy I like was only coming to my house to get closer to my brother. FML
Today, I found out that while I was on vacation my neighbor had let my brother into my apartment. I don't have a brother. FML
Today, I realized how absolutely shitty my family is when my brother brought home his third girlfriend this week. They all smiled in her face, knowing full well my brother is a cheating asshole. Not to mention, she’s pregnant with his kid. I wasn’t allowed to date til I moved out. FML
Today, I bailed my brother out of jail for violating a restraining order filed against him by his ex. I dropped him off at the place he told me he was staying at. Turned out it was his ex's house, and now he's in jail again. FML
Today, my friend informed me that I’m not moving in with him anymore, and that his sister is taking my place. Unfortunately, I'd finally gathered the money and a car to move out of state with him. Just when I thought I was going to get away from this hellhole, I’m sinking further into never leaving. FML
Today, after being supportive for nearly a year, my brother finally came out of the closet and introduced the family to his new boyfriend. His new boyfriend happens to be my ex-boyfriend. Guess I know why that didn't work out now. FML
Today, I finally met a guy I was interested in, after being a single 21 year-old virgin, but my brother decided to be overprotective and drag me away. Like, literally. FML
Today, my screw-up brother turned up at my house, expecting to move in rent free. Apparently, mom kicked him out and sent him to me. He's a freeloading demon, who's almost impossible to get rid of, so I told him to get lost and locked my door. Now my mom calls every 5 minutes to call me a selfish asshole. FML
Today, after moving in with a friend I've known for 9 years, I found out he's going to jail soon, and refuses to work or get a new job, making me unable to pay rent as he eats all my food. FML

Since when does your brother decide that your house is available for him? Isn't it the owner of the house who decides who moves in, hmm? Just say no.

You "found out"? Have you no say in who moves in with you?

Not necessarily... He will surely be on probation when he gets out. Work that to your advantage. I can think of a couple of ways...

Since it's your house, you have the right to say no. If he tries to move in anyway, get his ass in jail again. Either way, it's a win-win.

Your brother was in jail, yet he's over-protective of you? Sounds like he should be worrying about himself rather than you

Well, at least you know that he really cares about you! Or...that you'll only get someone who deserves you, someone willing to go through your brother for you!

I gotta go with the majority, here: just say NO to your brother moving in with you. If you let him, then you totally deserve everything that happens as a result.

On the bright side, he's probably learning some neat tricks in the pokey, and after he shows 'em to you, you won't be interested in any guy who hasn't spent time "on the inside."

Ahaha, I don't see why some of your comments get so many negative votes.

Thank you, Bella. I do try to make them outrageous, so maybe some people get . . . um . . . outraged. I'm glad you liked it, though.

Overprotectiveness is generally associated with being conservative. How conservative could he be considering that he's currently in jail?

conservatism has always had a double standard. I see many "conservative" people who see no problems with their own behavior, but want to control others.

older siblings are over protective a lot of the time. its not that hes conservative or not its that he doesnt want his baby sister getting hurt and probably doesnt feel comfortable with the idea of his little sister dating. because it means shes all grown up and he still sees her as a little kid he needs to look out for and protect. his having been in jail only makes it so hell be even more intimidating to her potential love interests and maybe be able to make good on his threats.

Yeah, I have a dad and a younger sister (neither of which live with me), and my dads been put in prison, and because of his experience with the people that belong in high security prisons, murderers, child molesters, and other guys like that, he's overprotective of me because he doesn't want me to be with the wrong guy.. And I'm overprotective of my sister because I love her and I want only the nicest of guys to be with her :) (FYI, my dad got a felony DWI charge, he's not a bad guy, just made stupid decisions)
