Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was told not to show up for work, after I showed up for work. FML
Today, I got called into work on my day off. I ended up being written up for being 15 minutes late to a shift I didn't even have. FML
Today, I won employee of the month. I was then fired for being late. FML
Today, I was informed that I was let go from my job for not showing up for a week. A week I'd scheduled off, that management had approved. FML
Today, I arrived at work and was immediately given a disciplinary write-up for being two hours late for my shift. Apparently the manager had changed my schedule that morning and failed to tell me. FML
Today, I was yelled at and almost fired for showing up "late" to work. I was the first one here. FML
Today, I went into work early so I could get my work all done and leave on time, rather than staying back. The later shift starters had other ideas and called in sick. FML
Today, after resigning from my current job, I was let go from the new job I hadn't even started yet. FML
Today, I was supposed to start my new job. I had forgotten I had a doctor's appointment, so I called work early and told them I wouldn't be able to start until tomorrow. My boss then terminated my employment. I got fired before I even started. FML
Today, the day before I was supposed to go back to work after I got sick, ended up in the hospital, and primary doctor put me on medical leave, I got fired. FML

"Coming into work early" means earlier than the hours agreed upon before signing your contract. And there could be genuine reasons OP couldn't get in earlier than agreed, like if they rely on public transport, or are responsible for getting their kid/s ready for school, or are a carer for a relative who can't look after themselves.

Usually when applying for a job they ask what hours you are willing to work. If you said you would be able work certain hours and then refused to work those hours, it’s not unreasonable to be fired for that. Life is hard. Don’t lie on the employment form - It will come back to bite you.
