Today, I went into work early so I could get my work all done and leave on time, rather than staying back. The later shift starters had other ideas and called in sick. FML

Today, I was sick, so I went into work to see if I could get my shift covered, instead of just calling in. I ended up working an extra hour. FML
Today, I woke up at 5:30 and made the half hour drive to work only to find out that it was my day off. After finally getting back home and into bed, my boss called, requesting that I come back to work since I was "already up". FML
Today, after being a few minutes late to work a few times this week, I left the house super early this morning. When I got to work, security hadn’t unlocked the doors yet, so I waited in my car, where I ended up falling asleep and sleeping through most of my entire morning shift. FML
Today, I was let go from my job for not being able to come into work early. FML
Today, I got up and left for work despite being really sick, because I had a big meeting. Halfway to work, in deadlocked traffic, my boss texts me to let me know he's rescheduling the meeting to tomorrow because of personal conflicts. FML
Today, I called in sick to my job. I'm already on shaky ground there, but I was honestly sick. I happened to call in during the mandatory departmental meeting. Apparently, I was supposed to go in a half-hour early. I called in thirty minutes late, during a required meeting. FML
Today, I finally got up early enough to get to work on time. I arrived 15 minutes early only to realize that I'd left my work laptop at home. Ended up being 30 minutes late. FML
Today, I got called into work on my day off. I ended up being written up for being 15 minutes late to a shift I didn't even have. FML
Today, I fully intended to start going to the gym so I set my alarm an hour early so I could go before work and get it over with. Alas, when the alarm went off and I saw that horrible "5 a.m." on my phone, my brain put me straight back to sleep without my consent. I ended up being late for work. FML
Today, I woke up at 2 a.m. and stayed up the rest of the night. I had to go to work from 3 to 11 and I ended up getting my coworker to leave early. As I was getting ready to leave, I found out that I wasn't scheduled today and that I now have to work this Saturday. FML

I'm on salary + overtime, but time was worth Monday on this day unfortunately.

They do, but the reason I went early is because I had something planned afterwards.. I do overtime on a daily basis, the one day I try leave on time...

Not really it's actually very common since the workers are all exposed to pretty much the same germs through out the day. Hell the place where I work right now currently has three different people with severe sinus problems, sore throats, and coughing. They have all worked and so even if it wasn't a customer that exposed them to whatever illness they have, they have still exposed the rest of us to it.

Haha, it should be but my boss can't say anything when they get certificates. I can guarantee they weren't sick, they call in sick all the time.. To the people asking, I do get paid overtime. the problem was I had somewhere I needed to be, hence coming in earlier.

Certificates, is that a doctors excuse? Where I work we are not excused for any reason except FMLA, even with a signed slip.
