Toxic workplace
Today, I quit my job because I wasn't given the time or space to pump for my newborn child. I went back to work 4 weeks postpartum, and they suggested I pump in the bathroom, my car or the freezer. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I left something in my boss's office. The door was closed which usually means she isn't in there, so I asked her coworker/friend for the key. When I opened the door, she screamed at me to get out of there. Turns out, she has just stopped breastfeeding her son and was pumping her breasts. FML
Today, at work, I was taking a woman's measurements while she held her screaming baby. To silence the infant, she whipped out her breast right there and started feeding him. Moments later, he puked breast milk all over my desk. FML
Today, after struggling with breastfeeding and trying to build up my milk supply, I was finally able to pump a full 6 oz! I celebrated by immediately spilling it all over my lap. FML
Today, I got pissed after my boyfriend tried mansplaining breastfeeding to me. I’ve nursed two children of my own, stocked and sustained two big freezers full, and still had leftovers to donate to preemies. He tried saying pumping "doesn’t increase supply" and that I just “got lucky” making so much. FML
Today, I accidentally left a small but very important piece of my breast pump at home. Only ten more hours until the end of my shift. FML
Today, I had to quit my job. Why? Because I don't have a babysitter anymore. All I did was tell them I didn't want them mocking my baby when he cries. FML
Today I left my 8-week-old with my brother so I could return to work. His wife took all the breast milk I'd packed out of the fridge and poured it out. According to her, it was “gross” and she didn’t want it near her food. My son is allergic to formula. FML
Today, I stabbed myself in the nipple with scissors trying to cut an opening in the supposedly hands-free pumping bra I just bought. I breastfeed my 5-day-old. FML
Today, a woman started breastfeeding her infant in a restaurant. Disgusted, I told her to take it to the bathroom, as I was eating. In response, she squirted me with milk then went back to ignoring me. FML
Today, I found out I'm pregnant, after quitting my job because they asked us to work for free due to COVID. So because I quit, I'm no longer eligible for maternity leave. I didn’t know that I was 4 months pregnant. I could've just gotten a doctor's note for medical reasons. FML

I feel like you could probably sue them for that

Unfortunately, the United States is the only developed country in the world to not offer state-mandated paid maternity leave. You can take unpaid leave, but when you combine that with the high cost of our private healthcare system, unpaid leave is often unaffordable to many new mothers who just dropped several thousand dollars on birth in a hospital. One of our many "features."

Our maternity leave doesn't guarantee the young mother to keep her job position. But her place is reserved for a while.

America the average is 6 weeks, depending on the Job. waitstaff and fast food may get a week up to six. Usually not paid. However I think that employers must provide a space for pumping.

For what? There no law stating they need to support that or accommodate her.

Apparently in the US, workplaces are required to provide an acceptable space if they have 50 or more employees. Some states are stricter. Not sure where OP works though.

view the maternity laws for your location. I know there are none where I am at but hopefully you have some.

You are another level of rude.

Excuse me, are you a woman? Because your name seems masculine to me, but I could definitely be wrong, so I prefer to ask. Either way, you're incredibly rude.

its a law "Frequently Asked Questions – Break Time for Nursing Mothers | U.S. Department of Labor" https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/nursing-mothers/faq#:~:text=What%20must%20an%20employer%20provide,birth%20of%20the%20employee's%20child.

sure you go eat your food in the bathroom. while your at it cover your head with a blanket to eat. pumping doesn't come easy for all women for 1 and you need a clean room to be providing for your child. you have no respect and need to do some research.

Where do you live? This illegal some places and you may need an attorney...government agencies would take care of it depending on where.
