Today, I accidentally left a small but very important piece of my breast pump at home. Only ten more hours until the end of my shift. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
I'm so tired
Today, I worked a night shift at the hospital so long that I started putting things in the wrong pockets. I realized at 4 a.m. that I had taken a patient’s pen, my own phone charger, and two packaged crackers home in my scrub top. I also left my badge in the fridge next to the milk. FML
Oh, hello…
Today, I left something in my boss's office. The door was closed which usually means she isn't in there, so I asked her coworker/friend for the key. When I opened the door, she screamed at me to get out of there. Turns out, she has just stopped breastfeeding her son and was pumping her breasts. FML
Left hanging
Today, I was at work, and I had to tell my manager I was calling someone to bring me a bra as mine had broken mid-shift. I was the only woman on shift. It took them 30 minutes to show up and I still had to serve front of house while I waited. FML
LET ME IN
Today, I work the night shift as a security officer. I packed my uniform and my stuff into one large bag and left for work. When I arrived, I realized that I'd left something important at home, so guess what it was? My security pass and it was almost 5 minutes before my shift started. FML
On time
Today, I finally got up early enough to get to work on time. I arrived 15 minutes early only to realize that I'd left my work laptop at home. Ended up being 30 minutes late. FML
Keep it together
Today, the underwire in my bra snapped as my 9-hour workday started. FML
What a tit
Today, I stabbed myself in the nipple with scissors trying to cut an opening in the supposedly hands-free pumping bra I just bought. I breastfeed my 5-day-old. FML
More speed, less haste
Today, I was running late for work and, in my rush, spilled coffee all over my shirt. When I finally got to the office, I realized I had forgotten my laptop at home. FML
Forgetful
Today, I woke up unusually early for an appointment and got ready real quick. Only after passing the front door did I realize I had forgotten my sleeping baby inside. FML
Phoneless in Seattle
Today, in a rush to get to the gym after work for a class, I left my phone in the office. It's Friday and the building will be locked until Monday morning. FML

Hello everyone op here. First of all wow I can't believe this got posted. Ok, so I get dropped off at work because my husband works in the next town over so he gets to take the car. Normally it's an hour walk to my house but there's like half a foot of snow right now so it'd take longer. I did try expressing but I've never had to before so I'm pretty sure I was doing it wrong on account that I usually get 4oz but only managed about half an oz

Because you fill up with milk whether the baby is around or not. And being filled with milk without a baby to put it into hurts. A lot. And can lead to mastitis. Which hurts even more. Any questions?

Couldn't you have just went home and got it? I'm sure your boss would have been more then understanding.

Maybe during lunch you can go and get it? You're boss should be pretty understanding, and if not, fyl indeed
rockninja 21
you should go back home and take it and tell your boss while you are at it. I think he/she wouldn't mind

I hope that you explained to your boss and that they let you go home and get it. For one, that'll get really painful if you don't pump and two, you could affect the amount of milk you're able to produce by skipping sessions.

Hopefully your boss will let you go pick up the piece during your break or at some point! If not, if you've got storage....You could always hand express.

can't you just hand-express? it's better than being uncomfortable for hours.

U could probably go home for that right? I mean it's a good excuse

It's important to express yourself. :)

Been there and done that. I actually took a long lunch that day, went home (a 45 min trip), pumped, then went back in. Ouch. F your life, babe.
