Today, I finally went to Home Depot to buy a chainsaw to cut down the tree leaning dangerously over my garage. When I got home, I found the tree had fallen and taken out the roof while I was shopping. FML

Today, I was awakened by the sound of chain-saws. Moments later a tree branch came through my roof. FML
Today, I was at Home Depot getting a Christmas tree with my family. While picking out a tree, a man thought it would be nice to help cut off the string that held the tree together. The branches hit me in the face and the guy managed to cut my hand. FML
Today, I woke up and found that the tree in my front yard was gone. FML
Today, I cut down a dead tree in my yard. The top hit the ground and the base seesawed up in the air and came down on my head. I hit the ground like a sack of flour. Fortunately, the wood was rotted and soft. Unfortunately, the chainsaw was still running. 28 stitches in my calf. FML
Today, I got home to find my truck smashed by a fallen old tree. I was going to have the tree removed next week. FML
Today, my husband finally got round to cutting down a tree limb in our front yard after months of me begging him. It fell on me. FML
Today, I watched one of my neighbor's trees fall into the electrical lines outside my house. This was after he took a chainsaw to the tree. He refuses to cover the damages. FML
Today, I decided to clear up some storm damage. I carefully cut a tree that was threatening to fall on my house. It fell on my neighbor's house instead. He's taking me to court for damages. FML
Today, a storm dropped a tree across my road. I would have moved it with my tractor, but there was a tree on that too. FML
Today, to save money, I wanted to fix my own leaky roof instead of hiring someone. When I got on the roof, the ladder fell. As it was falling, it broke three windows and snagged the siding of my house ripping over half of it off. FML

I wonder how a tree just randomly falls down.. OP- didnt you notice that its at the brink of breaking off, seriously if the tree was huge then im prety sure it will be sturdy. If its just a thin tree and it fell on your roof then I guess it wouldnt do much damage on your roof. OBVIOUSLY FAKE.

Actually, I had something like this happen when I was younger, except the tree didn't hit our house: it almost fell on my little brother. Trees can rot on the inside and just one day break loose and fall; it doesn't even take a particularly strong gust of wind if the internal damage is bad enough. Sounds plausible to me, imho, especially if the OP had noticed the tree was leaning and had decided to do something about it at last, but it was just a second too late. OP: FYL. Now that's what I call a healthy dose of irony; unhealthy if you're the roof, obviously. xD
