Today, when I went out to get some groceries with my mother, a small girl came up to me and said I was an "ugly egg" because I'm a bald girl. I had to shave my head in order to have brain surgery to relieve me of the symptoms of my neurological disorder. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I shaved my head because I heard that one of my good friends got cancer. I went to visit her in the hospital. She's not bald. FML
Today, I had an elderly woman come up to me and tell me how well I pull off the look of being bald. She said that most women can't look attractive without hair. Then she asked me if I had cancer. I had to explain to her that I am, in fact, a man, and I shave my head because I'm a swimmer. FML
Today, I slipped and gashed my head bad enough that my head had to be shaved to be sewn up. Right after it had finished growing back from chemotherapy. FML
Today, feeling very self-conscious about my looks, I told my mom I felt ugly and wished I could be as beautiful as her. She only said, "Yeah, I'm pretty, I wonder what happened to you." FML
Today, I asked my dad to give me a haircut. After 20 minutes of "fuck"s and "shit"s, he gave up and just shaved my head bald. I pull off the look so badly that two people I don't even know have already told me I look like a psychopath. FML
Empathy City
Today, after losing all my hair to chemo, I finally felt brave enough to go out without a wig or a headscarf. I expected some weird looks. I didn’t expect a woman in a store to point to me and tell her daughter, “See what feminism does to women? She’ll never have a husband, I bet!” FML
Today, I shaved my face after several months of growth. This would be OK if my 4-year-old daughter would still talk to me. Apparently she doesn't recognise me, and I'm scary. FML
Today, I went to pick up my daughter from my dad's house. He'd shaved her head bald. "For a laugh." FML
Today, I decided I wanted to bleach my hair, so I asked my mother for help. Apparently, something went wrong, because clumps of my hair started falling out. Now I'm half blonde and half bald, and my mom is just laughing at me. FML
Today, I was finally confident enough to buzz half my hair off into the style I've wanted since I was young. Turns out that I have a particularly large and angry-looking skin problem across my scalp that may well have been there for years. It'll take months to grow back. FML

Parents should teach their children not to be rude

It's a kid OP, don't take it to heart. You had to do what you had to do.

Please o FML community, answer me this: what kind of moron would actually say. YDI to this?

Some people are going for trophies, like on Dec 25th, moderating a comment and it was posted. Some just hit YDI to get the trophies/unlocked achievements.

Don't take it to heart. She's just a kid and probably doesn't know any better than not to say those types of things. Don't feel bad.

Ignore the little brat. Obviously her parents haven't bothered to teach her manners.

I highly doubt it would do any good...How many small children do you think would even understand what a neurological disorder is?

Don't take it too personally, OP. Little kids have no filter. They say whatever comes to their minds, and they tend not to realize that's not always a good idea.

Children can be the cruelest people in the world without even knowing or realizing it.

That sucks sorry to hear that

Eh, what does she know. She's knee-high and opinionated :P Kids often judge conceptually and stereotypically. Don't listen to any negativity and focus on getting better :) Best of luck with your surgery and recovery!
