Today, we went to the wedding of one of my friends. As she was about to throw her bouquet, my boyfriend muttered that if I tried to catch it, we'd be through. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Upping the stakes
Today, I was at a wedding and caught the bouquet. My boyfriend of five years panicked and proposed on the spot, thinking I was hinting at something. I just wanted to catch some flowers, but I had to tell him to get a grip without hurting his feelings. FML
Chopped
Today, my girlfriend caught the bouquet at her sister's wedding. I took it as a sign so after we got home, I proposed. She laughed and said no way. I'm done. FML
What have I done now?
Today, my girlfriend caught the bouquet at her friend's wedding, then shook them in my face like an accusation. I joined in the laughing with everyone else, but it put her in a mood, and she now hasn’t spoken to me in two days. FML
Today, at my sister's wedding, she and I had a plan that she would purposely throw the bouquet to my girlfriend, then I would propose in front of everyone. When the bouquet landed in my girlfriend's lap, she screamed, "Ew, no way" and threw it to someone else. FML
Crazy chick
Today, at my sister's wedding, I went to the very back of the crowd of women waiting to catch the bouquet. Not only did I end up catching it, I was accosted by a crazy chick who ripped it out of my hands, screaming at me in Italian. I later found out she was already engaged. FML
No thanks!
Today, I was at a wedding, and during the bouquet toss, I stood back and let the single ladies have their moment. The bouquet flew straight at me, hit me in the face, and I instinctively grabbed it. Now everyone thinks I’m desperate to get married. FML
Today, I went to my friend's beautiful wedding. The only other single girl there was 5 years old. She caught the bouquet. FML
Today, my wife tried to catch the bouquet at my sister's wedding. Afterward I informed her that only single women were supposed to do that, and she replied "I know". My wife told me that she was divorcing me at my sister's wedding. FML
My life is a romcom
Today, I was at a friend's wedding and caught the bouquet. Everyone cheered, until I slipped on the flowers and fell flat on my back. FML
Today, at a wedding reception, I accidentally caught the bouquet. I got cussed out by the women who were fighting over it for being uninvited and party crashing. I'm a busgirl and the bouquet only landed on the tray I was holding. FML

Your boyfriend is ridiculous! It doesn't mean you HAVE to be the next to marry. It's just a fun tradition. In my opinion, he's not worth it anyway.

Don't forget that it's also "tradition" for the lady that catches the bouquet to have the guy that catches the garter put it on her thigh. I once went to a wedding and the girlfriend of the garter catcher slapped her boyfriend, (in front of everyone!) when she felt he was disrespectful for going too high up the bouquet catcher's leg. They broke up that night.

I noticed not every wedding has that, though. Most of the weddings I went to just threw the bouquet, and that was it. If he is being rude for that reason, I can understand, but if it's just because he thinks you have to be the next to marry, he's just an asshole.

Ahh, you see, the problem here is that HE wanted to catch the bouquet. :P

That's just a fun tradition. Why is he taking it so seriously? Sorry about your boyfriend, OP .

Catch it and walk to the nearest single guy

Catch it and say that's what I was hoping for.

Don't judge too quickly... we don't know how long they've been together, or even if they want to get married. Marriage can go sideways fast... better to be patient than rush into things!

true, but his comment was rude and unnecessary.

That still gives him no reason to ruin a tradition that is meant to be fun. Nowadays, it doesn't mean you absolutely have to wed. If he doesn't know that, he better catch up on times and learn how not to be an ass.
