Today, we buried my mom. I walked past my sister's husband just in time to hear him mutter: "Hope the fire's nice and hot down there, you old hag." I told my sister. She wouldn't believe me and accused me of trying to start drama. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Stop doing this
Today, my sister called me at work and told me our elderly mom had passed away. I dropped everything and rushed home, to find out she was fine, and that my sister was just pranking me. When I explained this to my boss, he accused me of lying to get out of work, and I was fired. FML
Too awkward to function
Today, my sister told me she doesn't think her mom died the way she was told. Uncomfortable, I declined to give my 2 cents on the matter, saying, "I'm sorry" and, "Oh sh!t, sorry." She started gaslighting me about how I wasn't listening, and I told her I was sorry for being a piece of shit, so she then gaslit me about that too. FML
Today, I was pestering a co-worker, so she jokingly stated "I'll bury you!" and I replied "I'll bury your mom!". Her moms funeral was last week. FML
Come on, dude…
Today, I was at my mom's funeral. My sisters and I were sitting in the front row. The funeral director, whom we had met with twice before, was going around greeting everyone. When she got to us, she asked where our mom was. Seriously? FML
Great family you've got there
Today, my wife, who recently had cancer, made an offhand comment that my 30-year-old sister took offense to. Instead of saying something, she went and called our parents. My dad then called and yelled at me for 5 minutes about it. FML
Intentional?
Today, I intentionally caused my parents to have an intensely heated argument when I asked them how and where they first met. Dad said it was at a funeral, and mom said it was at a burial. FML
Dead wrong
Today, I attended my husband's funeral and my son carried out the eulogy, which basically turned into a character assassination, ending with "and I hope Hell is hot enough for you, old man." Almost our entire family agreed with every word he said. FML
Today, my sister announced her pregnancy at my husband's funeral. FML
Today, my parents and I attended the funeral of my husband's mother. It was open-casket, and my parents went to take a look. My mum muttered, "With a dress that tacky, no wonder she died", and my dad chuckled. A fight quickly erupted, and the police were called. FML
Are you kidding me?
Today, my mom talked me into going to a funeral since my dad wouldn't go. It was for one of her classmates. When it was our time to view the casket, we paused in front of it for a second before my mom leans over to me and says, "What if I told you that was really your dad?" FML

Oh, it is! They got a real good heating guy who hooked them up with some sick insulation and temperature regulation controls! None of that cheap, cold fire you get in, like, purgatory.

I don't understand a lot of these comments. What he said was abhorrent and simply wrong. He doesn't have to be grieving or even sad about her death. If they had a terrible relationship, that's fine. What's not okay who saying something so blatantly disrespectful when people around him who are mourning the loss of their loved one have even the slightest potential to overhear it. It's not difficult to keep a comment like that to yourself. If you feel the need to express it so badly, you can at least have the decency to wait until you're not standing next to a freshly dug grave surrounded by grieving family members and friends. If he couldn't act like a mature adult and shut the **** up, then he shouldn't have gone at all. It doesn't matter if they had a bad relationship. It doesn't make what he said okay. It doesn't justify it. And honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't like him. The fact that he was capable of saying something so despicable at a funeral only makes him seem either just as bad or worse than she could have been. I would have told my sibling too and it wouldn't be to cause drama. I may have waited a bit, but I would want them to know what their spouse said. What they do with that information is their choice, but they at least deserve to know. I would definitely want someone to be honest with me about it.

Idk the bg deal like he said it low so no one hears hendidnt want to insult you or ur family shes probably just a bitch towards him which is normal

What are you talking about? If he didn't want to insult her family, then he wouldn't have insulted her family.

I'm sorry that happened at your mother's funeral. And I know that you are probably attached to your mother and lover her very much, but trust me, mother in laws never love their son in laws. I was dating a girl once and her mother convinced her oldest son I had stolen money from her, which lead to this friggin line backer chasing me to my car. You would have a valid point if he said it out loud.

That's horrible!

I would have ******* punched him right there, why would just get quiet and tell your sister later! I don't allow anyone to disrespect your family cause if they do it once they'll do it again!
