Today, my wife, who recently had cancer, made an offhand comment that my 30-year-old sister took offense to. Instead of saying something, she went and called our parents. My dad then called and yelled at me for 5 minutes about it. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, after agreeing to hang out with my husband and his alcoholic mother after his father’s suicide, my mother-in-law found out that my sister-in-law and I playfully insult each other. She lost her mind and practically bit my head off, relapsed, and blamed my “disrespecting her daughter” on said relapse. FML
Today, my brother-in-law's wife sent me a text venting about her argument with our mother-in-law. She also said said some nasty things about her and I mistakenly shared this info with my “trusted” husband, who immediately told his hot-tempered-momma's girl-IDGAF attitude older sister, who now plans on beating her ass. This is bad. FML
Today, I was trying to explain to my mother-in-law how I hated the way my father-in-law talks to me, the tone he uses. She thought I was attacking him and got mad at me. FML
Today, I told my mom she made me feel unloved my whole life. She called my sister and apologized. FML
Today, we buried my mom. I walked past my sister's husband just in time to hear him mutter: "Hope the fire's nice and hot down there, you old hag." I told my sister. She wouldn't believe me and accused me of trying to start drama. FML
Today, my dad and I got into an argument, and he ended up calling me a son of a bitch. My mom heard and started arguing with him over him calling her a bitch. Three hours later, I'm now staying at my gran's house with my mom and hoping her threats of a divorce weren't for real. FML
Today, my mom and dad got into a fight, during which my dad said to my mom that her health conditions were of her own doing. Because of that, I got pissed and had a fight with my dad, taking my mom's side. Turns out, my mom took his side and ratted me out. FML
Today, on my long-awaited vacation, I got a phone call from my sister. Her childhood friend died. She bawled on the phone, and my plans were ruined. My husband said it was selfish of her to do such a thing when she knew we were on vacation, so she ramped up the drama times ten. She and her friend used to bully me. FML
Today, I said a few words to my mom that happened to be similar to something offensive, and she misheard. I tried to tell her, but she was so angry that she assumed I was saying more offensive things. Now she is punishing everybody in the house, and I’m not allowed to speak to her. FML
Today, my father called me for the first time in two weeks since I moved away. Excited, I answered the phone. It was a mistake. He thought he'd called my sister. FML

Yeah I really can't make a call on this one without actually knowing what she said. Like I feel like you're intentionally providing meaningless details, such as your sisters age and your wifes cancer, and leaving out the one important one - what was said.

Just what I thought - if the wife had been a jerk in her comment, no wonder the sister took offense, and recovering from cancer is no one's free pass at being a jerk to others. Although, calling the parents is a bit childish...

Yeah I really can't make a call on this one without actually knowing what she said. Like I feel like you're intentionally providing meaningless details, such as your sisters age and your wifes cancer, and leaving out the one important one - what was said.

Just what I thought - if the wife had been a jerk in her comment, no wonder the sister took offense, and recovering from cancer is no one's free pass at being a jerk to others. Although, calling the parents is a bit childish...

to be fair people say things when in situations if extreme stress, like having cancer for example
