Today, my son told me the Christmas letter he wrote to Santa was a joke and he didn't want the stuff he asked for. I already bought everything. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Hail Santa
Today, my 16 year-old son had a tantrum over me asking him to clean up his room, and decided to tell my 6 year-old daughter that Santa isn't real, and that it was me who bought her presents. My daughter is inconsolable. FML
Today, I was talking to my sister about how I need to buy gifts from Santa for my daughter, when my son asked why I would be buying them instead of letting Santa bring them. My son genuinely still believed in Santa. He’s 22 years old. FML
Today, I took my kids to the mall to see Santa. While waiting in line, my eldest got bored and loudly complained, "I don't know why we're here. Santa's not even real." I don't think any of the kids within a hundred feet took the news very well. FML
Today, on the bus, when I was asking my 6-year-old son what he wanted for Christmas, a stranger came up to us and yelled at him about how Santa Claus is not real, that his "parents are fucking liars" and that he should "never listen to anything one of those fuckers says." FML
Today, I saw Santa. He gave me the finger. FML
Today, my husband still hadn't gotten me anything for Christmas, so I bought and wrapped my own presents. Then I had my husband write 'to me, from him' on them so that I won't be embarrassed in front of my family on Christmas when it comes time to open presents. FML
Skeptic
Today, my son told me not to be silly, because things like the Tooth Fairy and Santa don’t exist. He’s three years old. I guess we’ll just skip all the magical moments of his childhood I was looking forward to, and start the process of turning him into a soulless adult who doesn’t know how to have fun. FML
Today, I dressed up as Santa Claus for my employees' children. After seeing all the others, my daughter's turn arrived. She sat on my lap, put her lips to my ear, and whispered softly: "I want a new dad." FML
Cats are the same
Today, my son was playing with a piece of plastic wrapping and trying not to let it fall to the floor as if it were a balloon. This is after he got some kick ass gifts for Christmas. Kids. FML
Today, my 8-year-old daughter was throwing a tantrum, and I said "Keep this up and I'll tell Santa to take your presents back." She told me I don't even know Santa, at which point I accidentally blurted that I'm "Santa". FML

You should return it and get him coal instead. ;) Serves him right for misleading Santa!

"Joke's on you, son! Santa's not real!" For real, though, you could always just donate it to charity.

It sucks that your son did that but just know that you're a really sweet parent for getting him the stuff though :)

Why do people reply to the first comment when their comment is directly to the OP? Just to be on the top comment thread?

Or OP can just give the presents to him anyway.... It's his own fault

Reason #4,236 of why guys shop later as opposed to earlier. Kids can't make up their minds

Just give it to him and that Santa didn't know better.

It serves him right. You don't f**k with Santa like that!

Yeah but I doubt his mum would want to fork over hundreds for presents he won't appreciate. It'd be better off returning what can be returned. But that's just my opinion.

Or give it to the kid anyway. It's better than not having any gifts at all.

Or OP could just get their money back?

I feel the kids deserves the gifts for lying to Santa.
grouper 10
No. But yes. It's not the kids fault but he should get The gifts abyway
TallMist 32
It's not the kid's fault that he lied about what he wanted for Christmas?
CoGhostRider 31
Teach him a valuable lesson when he opens his gifts.
ThePols 11
This is too vague. What kind of lesson?
CoGhostRider 31
Do not lie, especially to Santa
chinaski7628 32
So, teach her kid not to lie by lying to him? What a tangled web we weave...
TallMist 32
How would she be lying to her son? Santa is totally real. *Nods*
CrazyMelvin 14
Take him with you when you return or donate the gifts. Then if he complains, too bad...natural consequences.

You have a sinister mind haha i like it
sicksadworld1317 30
But that would give away the fact that Santa is actually Mom and Dad.
quickit 24
Tell him that's unfortunate because Santa is going to buy him those presents.
LowExpectations 30
Ha, Santa doesn't buy presents. He has his elven workers make them in his vast manufacturing complex. Duh.
