Today, my son forgot to log out of MSN. He had written, "When am I getting out of this place?" and his username was "mother fucker". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found the password to my boyfriend's MSN account. I was listed in the "booty call" category. FML
Think again, ******
Today, I came home to my son crying and packing a bag, with his laptop smashed on the floor. He said he needed to run away because a "crazy military guy" was coming to kill him. I logged in to his account and found that someone had sent him the Navy SEAL copypasta. He's 16. FML
This ain't it chief
Today, I was logging into my work computer. My account became locked due to the many failed attempts at typing my password. Thinking I was alone, I said, “Fuck this shit” while dragging the keyboard off my desk. Turns out my supervisor was in the other room. I'd forgotten I'd changed my password the other day. FML
Today, I logged on to MSN for the first time in a month. In under 10 minutes, I found out that my little sister had changed my screen name to Jake the Weiner, told my friend that he should "suck my d***" and sent an email to all my contacts declaring my love for my best friend. FML
Today, I got fired over MSN. I wasn't even online at the time. FML
The golden child
Today, I had to use my mum's laptop so she told me the password was just my sister's name. I hit a wrong key and misspelled it, so the incorrect password prompt came on screen. The prompt was: "Favourite child?" FML
Today, I fell asleep while using my laptop. The next thing I know, it's 8am and my dad is screaming at me for posting "u skank-ass cunt-face" on my mom's Facebook timeline. I never made that post, but he won't believe me. My asshole brother, meanwhile, can't stop smirking at me. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were chatting on MSN. He had to go run down to the corner market but left his webcam on. Shortly after he left I watched his mother steal 60 dollars out of his wallet. He doesn't believe me. FML
Today, I forgot to log out of my Facebook account before leaving for work. When I got back home, I discovered that my brother had gone through and commented "quack" on all my friend's duckfacing photos. She was not pleased. FML
Just a prank, bro!
Today, at the library, somebody left themselves logged in to Facebook on a public computer after they had left. Trying to teach them a lesson, I updated their Facebook status to something outrageous. That's when they came back to the computer after getting something from the printer. FML

Just put out a small backpack with a few changes of clothes, and a note saying "You're getting out today ************." See how long your kid thinks he knows what's what after a few nights in the real world....

i've done that before... as a teenager i can explain. i hope i speak for the most of us when i say that we need more independence! yeah..we may have done something(s) in the past to ruin your trust but either: 1. we truely do know it's a mistake and don't even plan on doing it again or 2. we will want to do it again no matter how long we get grounded for it in the case of two you just need to let us live and learn! don't try to convince us that your decision is for the better because all it does is make us feel stronger about how wrong you are and try to understand our viewpoints parents who act like they were never our age and never did anything bad are soooo lame. ( sorry no offence if you are one of those parents ) we will always love you but please eez up on the punishments and protection because truthfully some parents care a little much hope i wasnt disrespectfull at all thanks! when I started reading this I was like, wow what a dumbass haha then I realized you have a good point, I feel the same way about punishment - if it doesn't deter a kid from doin shit like weed, for example, then there's no point. the only thing I got out of being punished for blazing is a stronger desire to blaze some more haha

When you get older, you'll understand that your parents were strict on you for a reason. I'm only 16, but less than a year ago I was in an unhealthy internet relationship and was ready to run away for that man, and had my parents not stepped in, I would have been gone and probably dead. Some day you'll realize.

I agree with you, if I lose my temper and say something a little harsh, my mom says I was being rude so she takes away all my privilages! I think, If you set the standards that high, what will be left to take away if I do something actually bad!? Atleast I don't sneak out or anything. Shes a lucky parent, and I'm not just saying that because I think I'm perfect or anything. Grounding me just makes me want to do it more. Don't get me wrong, I try to tell her that I'd like to talk about it, but if I express my feelings she doesn't listen because I "don't make the rules" and I'm "not equal" to her. :/ If you have family problems, just talk about it and try to express your feelings while being respectful. :)

Since no one else is saying it: you're all ******* MORONS. Wait until you hit your twenties to look back on how stupid you were. All in all, this isn't much of a FML.

now i think you do have a point there about some parents being too overprotective/strict but in my case, my mother was always quite strict and my father was the cool one, i’m an only child but not spoiled. i always thought my mom to be a bit too strict but now i am 22 and my boyfriend has 2 boys (9&11) and he is very un-strict (mostly because of the divorce that’s been going on for 6 years and you don’t want to loose your kids for being the stricter one) but i do think now that my mom’s punishments were very reasonable and shaped me into the independent young woman i am so i dont think being a bit strict is going to harm anyone

I agree completely with the above comment.

yeah, tdogg hit the nail on the head with that one. exactly correct.

You shouldn't have looked at his messages, you should have signed him out straight-away. Of course, only one in a hundred people wouldn't snoop given the opportunity. That doesn't change the fact that you violated his privacy, so if you found out something you didn't like it's entirely your problem. You only get to be angry if what you found out by snooping was worse than the snooping itself. And it wasn't. Your teenage son feels trapped, and wants to be seen as a rebel who just don't give a ****? He'll grow out of it, though he'll be annoying in the meantime.

I don't think that OP looked at sons messages I think they just saw his PM

It was probably already open.

tdogg sounds very immature. If tdogg learns to spell correctly, maybe people would take them more seriously. Your son could mean more than get out of the house, he could be depressed or anything, who knows? Try and ignore what you read, but just keep an eye out for changes in behaviour.
ilyrwr 0
hah it's great that you're telling someone else to spell correctly when you can't. loser.

maybe she's british lol and yeah maybe he means he wants to get out of the town he lives in. that's actually the first thing I thought when I read the fml, but that's probably cause I have similar feelings and am participating in a student exchange program in order to get away from where I live haha

Tdogg is probably an overprivileged girl with too much freedom. She'll end up like Kerlygirl13.

wait...in the first comment, what's the #4 for? I know its in the entry but I can't figure out what it means. and if you confront your son, he will know you have read his messages and will be even more upset. when you think about it...his username was ************? Ew. And you're his mother. Let's hope he was talking about someone else's mom ha ha. sucks for everyone in this situation, though. good luck!

stop reading your kids' messages

#8 you are exactly the type of person i'm talking about you don't happen to have kids do you?? are you saying you never thought that? that you were a perfect person all your life? if you really were then that's good for you but just cause you were perfect doesnt meen everybody else can..and people like you are why kids become depressed i know how it feels learn to not judge someone unless you've walked in their shoes. and why does it matter if i spell correctly? haha it's not like i'm being graded on this

tdogg_737 is 100% correct. I say it a lot because my Mom and I get into fights a lot. It makes me miserable and the more it happens, the more I desire to get away from her. Plus, I'm sure that once my surroundings change, I'll feel a bit better. Like tdogg_737 said, every single teenager has said this once at one point. Even adults when they WERE teenagers. It just means they're depressed. Or... just not happy at the moment. It all depends on the mood and mindset. I say it after my Mom picks fights with me.
