Today, my remote control airplane arrived in the mail. I was super excited, so naturally I took it outside for its first flight. It now resides at the top of the tallest tree in sight. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I flew a toy airplane into my face. FML
Today, I was tossing my car keys into the air and catching them. I threw them up really high, only to have them land in the branches of the palm tree outside my door, at the very top. FML
Today, my Christmas tree was finally shipped. FML
Acrophobia
Today, my new drone got stuck on the neighbour's roof. I'd bought the drone to look at my roof because I don’t like going up on ladders. FML
Wind? Thief? Hit and run?
Today, I woke up and found that the tree in my front yard was gone. FML
Get out!
Today, the bird that has been stuck in my roof for two days, keeping me awake at night, finally flew out of the roof and into the house. As I was opening the door to send it outside, it flew straight back up into the roof. FML
Today, after being terrified for years, I went on a plane for the first time. It was also the first time I "emergency landed." FML
Sorry moley
Today, I managed to fell a tree perfectly. It landed exactly where it should. Today is also the day I managed to Whack-a-Mole in real life. FML
Today, my father went out to get batteries for the remote control helicopter I bought him for Christmas. In his excitement, he backed his truck into my car. FML
Two left feet for hands
Today, my friend invited me to play frisbee golf with him. On my first throw, my frisbee got stuck on a branch near the top of a very tall tree. This is why I don't do sports. FML

Train a falcon and have it go get it.

To buy the falcon use the money you saved by switching to State Farm.

It's okay, I've done that too, only mine decided to end up in the neighbor's pool.

I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to collect - how about - up a tree?

My dad's a nut about these, too. He's got a lot of them and has a lot of control. But even he doesn't take his new models out until he's completely familiarized himself with the remote, and can make them hover steadily. I have a feeling you didn't take such precaution. Live and learn...

Remote control planes don't hover...
ferrousWheel 6
You've confused planes with helicopters. Still not smart of the OP to take it out first thing, though.

Actually rc planes can hover. Go on YouTube and type in rc plane 3d flying or rc plane hovering.
Axipiter 24
It's not TECHNICALLY called hovering, it's generally referred to as hanging on the prop. Unless you're talking about pointing it straight into a strong headwind and chopping the throttle.

Yes your correct. But it's also commonly called hovering even though it may not be correct, And sorry for the double post

Train a bunch of squirrels! That would do!

My falcon is better.
new_Combray 4
No way, squirrels are definitely better! You will see!
Ugi 27
An enormous colony of trained army ants would be far superior!
Purplefluff 6
No falcons are better for sure.they look way cooler
shrimp1234 4
My falcon would rape and eat all your squirrels!
SqueakyChipmunk 22
NO! The squirrels will steal your nuts! Protect your nuts, Op! PROTECT YOUR NUTS!
new_Combray 4
Armed with nuts, my squirrels will stone to death your damn falcon!

How high did you think you could fly it?!

"I'm so excited! Where can I fly this? Oh, I know! I'll fly near those tall ass trees. Self, you have the greatest ideas!"

If the only place you can legally fly a remote control plane has trees all over, that's a pretty good indication you should get a new freaking hobby.

god-dang Murphy!

At least yours didn't disappear so high that you couldn't see it.
SliceOfCake 9
What good is seeing it at the top of a really tall tree? OP still can't use it in any way.
writergirl23 19
At least in a tree it doesn't get smashed to bits because it was too high to be in range, lost control, and plunged down. Plus OP's probably didn't cost several hundred dollars. That's all I'm saying.

Not sure if this any helpful but my friend had a remote control plane which he got stuck in a tree. He got another one, tied it to some string, (so if that one got stuck he could pull it out) and then kept flying 1 plane into the other and he got it out.

I fly RC planes as a hobby, surely you must know that they're designed to be magneticly attracted to trees?
Axipiter 24
My field is by four radio towers, same deal haha. It's like a model aircraft graveyard!

My club field is in the middle of a large horse racetrack, so we've got no trees. I did fly somewhere with trees once, and yep, it got stuck
