Today, my reflexes kicked in when I saw a hot glue gun falling. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was using my new curling iron to curl my hair. I was sitting down. Suddenly I dropped the iron and, as a reflex, I caught it between my bare thighs. FML
Close
Today I had a narrow escape with a nailgun that nailed my workboot to the floor but luckily missed my foot. After I calmed down and changed boots I returned to the nailgun, started working again and barely 30 seconds later I managed to nail my thumb to a piece of wood. Man, I'm bad at my job. FML
Today, I learned what a nail gun shooting my leg feels like. FML
How does that happen?
Today, I accidentally super-glued my hand to my face while trying to fix a broken pair of glasses. I yanked it off in a panic, taking a patch of my face along with it. FML
Today, I tripped while rushing to my classes. In a desperate attempt to regain my balance, I grabbed the nearest thing to me. A fire alarm. FML
Today, I dropped my knitting project while I was sitting down, but I managed to catch it between my legs. So my knitting needles also caught me. FML
Kitchen nightmare
Today, after placing it on top of the stove, my hot tray of freshly-baked cookies slipped. I caught it, though. With my bare hand. FML
Today, I was cleaning a pan. I turned the water on, and it was super hot. My reaction was to slam my hand down. On a knife. So, not only do I have a burned hand, but there's also a huge cut on it from the knife. FML
Testing, testing
Today, I was refilling my lighter. Afterwards, I gave it a test light. I must've spilled some fluid because my thumb caught on fire. FML
Today, I accidentally slammed a door on my own arm flab. FML

Remember, OP, just because you saved the glue gun doesn't mean it owes you anything in return. No matter how hot you think is, or how little it was wearing.

I almost did that when I dropped an open pocket knife. Luckily at the last second I thought "wait, what the crap am I doing?"

I did the same thing with a plastic wrap box and cut my middle finger on the serrated metal part. I got 5 stitches.

My sympathies. I had something similar happen about 8 months ago and now have a scar from the 2nd degree burns. Hopefully you're not injured too badly, OP.

That's ok. I've got a scar about half the size of a quarter on my wrist from when I burnt myself with the hot-glue itself when I was 10.

Luckily I was in the kitchen when it happened and got my wrist under cold water right away.
