Today, I found out that my stick figure drawing passed as homework during my doctoral level seminar. I'm paying over two thousand dollars for this course. FML
Today, my college professor handed every student a note card and told us to rate his looks from 1 to 5. Is this what I pay $20,000 a year for? FML
Today my college professor told me that I ask him too many questions. Apparently, my college tuition fee doesn't include learning. FML
Today, I bought my very first college textbook. I received a stack of hole-punched papers. My $195 "book" isn’t even bound together. FML
Today, I found out that I chose a wrong class and my 30-page paper worth 10 credit points that I wrote for that class is basically worthless now, and my graduation might be postponed another semester just because of that. FML
Today, my teacher made the class do Origami. As a disabled and very ham-fisted individual, I was the only one who struggled, while everyone else seemed to get it effortlessly. I started getting extremely upset as it just did not work, and the teacher would not understand just how impossible it is for me. FML
Today, in my architecture class, my professor's lecture consisted of a list of movies and books which feature characters who are architects. I couldn't leave because I needed the attendance points, and it lasted 45 minutes. I paid out of state tuition for this. FML
Today, my professor handed me back a paper I spent hours hours working on. At the bottom in red it said "D" followed by, "That was a gift." FML
Today, I found out that I have to take a weekly workshop outside of class time all semester, and it's only offered on the day I have the most work hours. I barely make ends meet as it is, but the professor said to figure it out or fail. FML
Today, I drove to my college campus for my 8 a.m. class, parked, walked the mile and a half to my classroom, just to find out class had been cancelled. The prof didn't send an email because she couldn't remember her password. I paid $1200 to be taught by this woman, who has a doctorate. FML

You would probably also be pissed if the prof made the class challenging. What the prof did will probably get him higher student evaluations, which is all that for-profit schools, or for that matter the governor of Texas, cares about.

I created an account for the sole purpose of telling you that you're an idiot. First off, the governor only cares for public universities. No Texas public school costs $40k except for out of state, which is a tiny percentage. Second, student evaluations are only a small piece of a teacher's evaluation. The big debate in higher ed during the last legislative session revolved around increasing the measures that teachers are evaluated on. Next time you wanna look cute and act like you know a thing, check your facts.

Dear arrogant longhorn 1. Of course no state u's in Texas cost 40k and of course Perry is only screwing up the state u's. If you could read what I wrote without making assumptions then you might get that I was making a swipe at Perry, who I like in other ways, for: 2. If you have been paying attention then you know that Perry has been supporting the "7 breakthrough solutions" which, as already implemented in places, give profs extra pay based purely on student evaluations. Expect many paper airplanes at UT soon. but thanks for caring.
