Today, my mother thought it would be okay to take my camera and erase all of my pictures that included my graduation, party, and my sisters wedding. Her excuse? "We need more room for Katie's birthday." Katie is our pet cat. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Proud mama bird
Today, my mom found a box full of stuff she had been looking for. She started going through it and found baby pictures of my sister and me, as well as pictures of the cats. She put my baby pictures back in the box and closed the lid. The cat pictures are now hanging in her living room. FML
Today, I deleted a load of junk that was messing up my mother's computer. I don't know how I'm going to tell her I accidentally wiped out all of her wedding photos. FML
Creepy
Today, my parents dropped by my new house, and my mother offered to tidy up for me while I was out. After they left, I noticed that her "tidying up" included throwing out all the pictures of my girlfriend and replacing them with pictures of herself. FML
Fatal decision
Today, my mom called me an attention seeker and threw a bitch fit because my cat "decided" to die on her birthday. FML
Today, the girl I was babysitting was being disrespectful to me, so I took away her stuffed animal and told her that she couldn't have it back until she apologized. She ended up sneaking onto my laptop and deleting all the pictures I'd saved from my recent vacation to Europe. FML
Today, my mentally-unhinged mother reached a new level of psycho - she threw a tantrum and raged at my father, accusing him of cheating on her with our cat. FML
Today, I got a laptop for my birthday. I was thrilled until I realized that my mom had given away my old one without asking. 6 years of games, music, and pictures down the drain. FML
Overbearing
Today, my girlfriend went through my phone and computer and deleted all my videos and photos of my high school girlfriend, who died when she was only 16. Her excuse was that keeping those photos was emotional cheating. FML
Get out
Today, my mother kicked me out of the house because her new boyfriend needs my room. Evidently he also needs my credit card, passport, and wallet too, because she kept all three, while tossing everything else out on the lawn. FML
Today, my 4 year old daughter was ripping out photos of the family photo book, I asked her why she was doing it she answered, "I saw mummy doing it to another book." The only other family photo book was the day we got married. FML

They are recoverable so long as she hasn't taken the pictures of "Katie" yet. Swap out the memory card for a new one and hold onto the memory card with the deleted pictures in them. Then find a Computer Tech who can recover deleted data from computers, flash drives, and memory cards. It won't be cheap ... but you could always send your mother the bill once you recover them.

If the pictures are really important to you, get a tech and not some cheap software from the internet. Get something reliable.

Well, you really should have uploaded the pix to your computer, but still. Also, my cats name is Katie too. Weird.

It's ok, even if there were pictures taken, you can probably still salvage yours. Just google photo recovery software. One of my friends is a photographer and accidentally deleted an entire shoot and was able to recover not only the day's work, but about 1500 pictures taken over the past year on that card. And it just cost $40. It works best if a lot of new pictures aren't taken on the same card, however, so the fewer of Katie the better.

YDI completely and utterly. Ever heard of backups genius? Especially if there were so many pictures in the camera that it was full.

Yeah, FYL. It's your camera, you should be able to back up your pictures when you damn well feel like it. Your mom erasing them was a bitch move. And the fact that she felt the need to replace pictures of her daughter's graduation and her other daughter's wedding with pictures of a CAT BIRTHDAY PARTY is more than slightly creepy. Actually, forget the picture fiasco, the cat birthday party is quite creepy on its own.
