Today, my wife is so determined to keep me on my diet that, as I'm off work for the next week, she has gotten rid of all the food in the house. She has also taken the phones and iPads so I can't order a takeaway, and taken all my trousers so I can't walk to the shops. FML

Today, my boyfriend came home and demanded dinner. I started suggesting things, but he threw out that we should just fend for ourselves. I made pasta and offered him some, but he decided to throw a fit and go to bed at 6:30pm without dinner. He then woke up at 9 to complain he was hungry, then slept on the couch. FML

Today, as soon as I got home, my husband said he was hungry and that I needed to cook. I flipped my shit and yelled at him for a good half hour. Later, he pulled out his phone and showed me videos of me doing the exact thing to him, asking him to do things the second he walked in the door. FML

Today, I told my husband that as I wasn't hungry, he had to cook for himself. He rang my Spanish stepmother as a joke to complain that I’m not wifey material. She showed up, whacked me with her Chancla, and browbeat me into cooking. He feels hella guilty, but he’s still a dead man once she leaves. FML

It is possible to have sex because your lover wants to, even though you're not particularly horny. It's not the same as having sex when you really don't want to.

Holy controlling. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, hun, but that's unsettling behaviour. He can't tell you that you can't eat when you're hungry. Make sure it doesn't escalate.

Controlling behavior shouldn't be ignored or tolerated. Talk to a parent, sibling or close friend about this, if he gets pissed that you are talking to them or stops you talking to them it is time to run. Isolation is the abusers main tactic for keeping control. Speaking from experience if you leave him get a restraining order, it makes it possible for you to get help if he gets violent.

I don't think a parent or sibling can do anything here. OP is obviously not underage and living at home. she has to confront her husband and tell him he has no control over what she does because she isn't a piece of property.

Even if the OP isn't underage, talking to family isn't a bad idea. Getting as much support from friends and family might give the OP the strength to stand up for herself-- if she hasn't already.
