Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. The constant harassment, threats and stalking by my ex-wife have finally driven her away. This is the third time this has happened. My ex physically beat the other two up, and now she’s scared away the one I wanted to marry. The courts have done nothing. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me after finding out my parents are divorced. Same reason my last three girlfriends broke up with me. FML
Today, my husband's ex-girlfriend is getting a restraining order on him. Turns out, for the past 2 years of our marriage, he has been trying to contact her and ditching work to stalk her. To top it all off, he told me not to come to court with him because he doesn't want her to see he downgraded. FML
Today, I finally got a restraining order against my violent ex. My mom now keeps finding ways to tell me how shitty I am for breaking the "poor boy's" heart and how I didn't deserve him anyway. FML

The concept of moving on just doesn't sit well with her does it? Get your ex-girlfriends to be your witness as to why you're pushing for the restraining order.

If the ex-wife is scaring the girlfriends, why are they just ditching OP? If they know OP has trouble with the psycho ex, why not help him prove it to help him get a restraining order? OP: if these ex-girlfriends knew what you were going through, and chose to not help, they were selfish bitches. I'm sorry, but it's true. Any woman worth a damn, in a situation like that, would do what she could to help. I'm sorry OP. Maybe see if you can find a way to have someone pose as your girlfriend, then have them record phone calls or confrontations to use as evidence to produce in court. Possibly a private detective or someone like that? Good luck!!

We don't even know what the ex-wife did to scare his ex-girlfriends. So I think it's unfair to call them selfish with so little information. We don't even know why his pleas for a restraining order keeps getting denied. We need a follow up.

I think when you plea for a restraining order, it's best not to hand the judge a note saying "we have to use code, she put a bug on me! Pretend you're my hair stylist!"

I think it's unfair to call them selfish because if they didn't truly love OP Zeno to stay, that's not their fault. People break up- reality. And let's not label "women worth a damn" as if somehow just because they chose to break up with him, they hold less value. When did it become wrong to consider your own safety? You can't sacrifice yourself and your priorities for everyone, sweetie. There's nothing wrong it that, that's just life. Would you rather they leave him or be unhappy and scared with him?

Well OP stated that they broke up with him because they are scared of his ex-wife. If that's truly the cause, then yeah, I think it's pretty crappy of the girlfriends to ditch him. My ex was a crazy stalker type who used to stalk me and threaten the guys I dated. One relationship I was in, my boyfriend at the time actually did testify against my ex which helped me get the restraining order. The guy didn't get scared off because of my ex. He stayed by my side and helped. If someone is a boyfriend or girlfriend, it's a relationship, so you care about each other. If I were in the situation of being in a relationship with someone I care about, their psycho exes would never scare me off. I would do what I could to help the guy. And this is of course just my opinion based on the info in the FML.

Well I applaud you for your care, but not everyone is the same. And just because those girls won't do what you would do doesn't make you better. Not everyone is so noble- that's what you need to understand. That's because everyone is different and just sees thing differently. I don't think it's right to judge in such a sticky situation, especially.

We don't know how long the girlfriend was with OP either. If you were going out with a guy for only a week, then would you put yourself in the fire of a crazy ex wife? They might be just starting their relationship, not years or a bunch of months into it. We need a follow up. It also depends on the things the ex wife is doing. She could be destroying property, making threatening calls, breaking in, stealing things, interfering with the girl friend's job, trying to kill pets, or any other number of things. Plus it is doubtful he'll get the restraining order as there is a tendency for people to think that guys shouldn't have to get restraining orders against their ex wives or girlfriends as the guys should be able to handle it. It isn't right, but it is how it works sometimes. Just like men find it hard to get protection from abuse from their wives or girlfriends. Not many people sympathize with men in those situations.
