Today, my first client as a freelancer screamed at me and threw a notebook at my head. I quit my job to become a freelancer because my boss would often scream and throw things at me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Toxic workplace
Today, I finally worked up the nerve to quit my job after being tortured by my boss for months. My boss responded by throwing a hardcover textbook at me and hitting me in the face. FML
The buck stops here
Today, my boss threw me out of her office during a conference call for daring to correct her. The client fired the company because she subsequently got all the information on the call wrong, and plainly had no idea what was going on. From all the screaming, this is now all my fault. FML
Get on with it
Today, I told my boss I'm going to quit, after months of being abused, doing meaningless work, and working late every day. I was soon given so many new projects that I didn't even have time to write my resignation letter. FML
Work sucks
Today, my friend explained that his internship was clearly worse than mine because he got yelled at by clients. One of my clients ripped out my hair. FML
Make up your mind
Today, my boss came around to my way of thinking. He called our customers a "bunch of assholes" and to kick them out if they gave me trouble. When a lady began yelling at me for "setting the damn prices too high" I told her to leave. My boss soon bitched me out for being unprofessional. FML
Today, at my workplace, I saw a system crashing. I mean literally, my manager was throwing my colleague's laptop at him while shouting around the office. This is only my second day. FML
Better out than in
Today, I resigned from my dream job with a small company. In the 6 weeks I worked there, a fist-fight occurred, the police were called 4 times, a person was fired for lying on important documents, and I was yelled or heckled for my ideas everyday. Now I'm jobless and worried, but had the first good night's sleep in 6 weeks. FML
Today, it was my first day on a £600 a week job. I was fired for being 10 minutes late. FML
Jekyll and Hyde
Today, I found out my "nice" boss was only nice to me for my first month. She's now started yelling at me for every little thing. FML
Whackjob
Today, my psycho boss snatched a file from my hand so aggressively that I got a papercut. She then scolded me for bleeding on the papers. FML

That's bad luck. Hang in there! My first clients were crazy when I went out on my own, but that was fifteen years ago and it's worked out great overall.

Things suck at first as a freelancer, but they get 1000% better! Just be patient and you will see a change. Sincerely, FlexMaster

The difference being as a freelancer you can fire customers. Don't put up with that OP.

Yes, and no. Since this is OP's first freelance job, he/she might not have the luxury of firing even the worst clients. Down the line, and many paychecks and good recommendations later, maybe. It's called "paying your dues." We all have to do it when we're just starting out. It sucks, but if you love what you do, and want to be successful, grit your teeth and deal with it. There will be other clients, and some of them will be awesome. Hang in there (and maybe wear a helmet next time.)

Maybe it's you.

I am a freelance artist. You will have picky customers, ones who back out at the last second, the rude ones, the weird creepy ones that try and come onto you. Luckily, I don't have to work with them in person. I do all of my business online.

Client or not, that's assault and as far as I know it's still a crime.
